Hello,
did anyone know or find out how to add a fire effect to a Aircraft like this ?
Also what Addon are the Fire Brigades :slight_smile: ?

its a “wish” topic :slight_smile: … so we have the wish that developers bring such things into the game in future releases.

Users can give a Vote for a wish and as more Votes as more higher the chance that it comes into developers backlog. But of course these are ‘only’ wishes and some wishes might need so much effort, that it never comes into the game , or other stuff have much higher prio, etc…

This has been covered many times and the answer remains.

The default sim will not allow this.

The reason being the licensing terms with the aircraft manufacturers who do not want their aircraft depicted in flames.

Same way you can’t actually crash them.

i think i understand, but i think you maybe did a spelling mistake in your answer ?
The first you say “The default sim will now allow this.”, which means yes if i understand correctly.
But then you say the manufactors dont allow that…

There is engine fire in MSFS. Some AddOns use it. The effect editor in the SDK lets developers create whatever effect they want. Its up to 3rd party developers to create/add them.

Hmm…ok, but the Problem … i am not a Developer and so i have no Idea how to create such a Effect :slight_smile:
Maybe anyone can help me out ?

Well, you cant just add them to an existing plane, atleast not that i know. What i mean is, 3rd party developers can implement engine fire into their AddOns, if they want.

It is done trough the effect editor in the SDK. When u want to learn more about it, there are some youtube tutorials and the SDK is public for everyone.

As far as i know from Youtube about creating a Effect you just need the correct Node for the Effect and then you can create the Effect. After that your Effect is saved in a *.sbp File and in the *.xml File of the Aircraft you need to add some lines for the Effect.
Thats all i know :slight_smile:

Sorry, i cant help you with that. Im not even sure you can add this to an existing airplane, i THINK, this only possible when developing an aircraft from scratch. As you need to implement “triggers” aswell, so, WHEN the effect does appear.

Im not sure about all that, but i guess you wont be able to add this to an existing plane. You`d be better off to talk with someone who is actually familiar with the SDK.

Thanks, i think the Trigger can be done via the Aircraft xml file, but i am not sure.
