Engine Issue - Shut down when going to a menu

After the latest release/update, every time I am in the sim and go back to the menu to change settings, etc., when heading back into the sim, it shuts down my engines and won’t allow me to restart them. This happens with the default planes and the CRJ, on the ground or in the air. Any idea what can be causing this? Thanks!

Having a similar problem . About 4 days ago, suddenly experiencing engine 1 shutting down when spawning on the runway for takeoff. Sometimes I can’t even turn the engine to the ON position , or other times I can but it doesn’t matter , the left engine still shuts down, or often after I turn it back to on position, it comes back to off position. I deleted all previous presets and reset the throttle quadrant to default mode. Still didn’t fix the problem. Seems to happen both on the A320 and 747. I assumed I had broken my officer pack thrustmaster so o purchased another and even with the new one , no change , same issue . Am I the only one having this issue? Can’t fly with 2 engines no matter what I do.

I had that happen a few times when flying the FBW a32NX. I would be mid flight, go into an external view to look at the sights, & the power & engines would cut out. I was able to restart though with the APU.

I had a hunch the it might be random keybindings since there are so many issues with keybindings since SU5. I went into the settings and removed as many keybindings as possible, mouse, keyboard, throttle, yoke, the lot!
Since then, touch wood, I havent had any power failures mid-air.

Playing on Xbox. I’ve just been midflight (first flight in a320) and all the power and engines cut off. Is this something I did? I wasn’t doing anything out of the ordinary I don’t think. It kept coming up prompting me to press rb + right arrow but it wouldn’t start anything.

Is this a bug? Does anyone know what I can do it try and kick things into action, you’re dealing with a complete novice though!

I had a similar problem with the flaps and autobrake deploying after returning from the menu.

It furns the game had assigned both flaps and autobrake to an unused axis on my joystick (the front slider of the Thrustmaster Airbus) and apparently returning from the menu made the game suddenly evaluate the slider’s position. Since I’ve removed the assignment, I haven’t experienced “flaps 3 at FL380” anymore.

I think I’ve just found the answer to my problem of complete power outage mid flight [SOLVED] Aircraft (A320) complete shutdown suddenly - #14 by LorenzoArduino

So could anyone help me what am I doing wrong in the check list? I’ve read the solution but I’m still confused! Cheers

As I understand the thread you linked to, they pressed the GEN 1/2 (engine generator) buttons when they displayed FAULT, turning them OFF (white). But FAULT during startup just means the engine generators can’t generate anything because the engines aren’t running yet. Just leave these buttons alone until the engines are running and you’ve turned off the APU, then they should just be dark which in Airbus logic means “fine.”

If that wasn’t what you did, your problem might still be discoverable via the overhead panel: Once the engines are running, there should be no white lights.

Or you might have just run out of fuel. There’s an FOB (fuel on board) display on one of the center displays, you generally don’t want to go below 1,000 kg. Either plan your fuel before the flight (with the help of sites like simbrief.com or fuelplanner.com) or just open the toolbar, select “weight and balance” and add some during flight.

Thank you very much ojhwel. That’s exactly what I was doing - seeing the fault and turning it off! I appreciate the explanation and tips, makes perfect sense. It’s a steep learning curve but I’m determined to master this sim! Thanks again for your help!
