Enhanced Live Traffic 3.03 Update released

There is one! Look here: Hot Air Balloon » Microsoft Flight Simulator
So you have to look for the correct Code in FR24 and then you should use the title from the “aircraft.cfg” file in the “ModelMatching.json” file like
“CODE” : “hot-air-balloon-flightsimto”,

Alright. I will try it out tomorrow…

What should the setting be in MSFS, Real-Time Online?

It depends what you want. You can turn off the traffic in the MSFS. ELT is an independent mod. It spawns the original traffic based on the data’s from FR24. But if you want you can combine or mix it with the original live traffic or AI traffic or also using the AIG traffic manager. So it would be possible to get shown the multiplayer traffic and the AI traffic mixed with the GA traffic from ELT when you exclude the other traffic in ELT. The ELT traffic will not interact with the original ATC but the tool Pilot2ATC is recognizing the traffic and will give you a traffic alert when there is a traffic around you. And it is also possible to use the chatter tool to use ELT and hear the original ATC radio because the traffic from ELT is live only 30 seconds delayed. You see it can be a very powerful tool with the right combination.

What chatter tool is that?

Look @ FS-ATC-Chatter Overview – Stick and Rudder Studios

I don’t see how that works with ETL the way your post implies it does though. Its nothing but pre-recorded clips as far as i can tell, not live ATC so how can we hear the original ATC radio when the chatter tool is just playing clips?

Sorry my mistake ! You can hear the live ATC @ https://www.liveatc.net/

That’s great, thanks!

This is the best possible immersion with the combination of Live ATC (when available) and your Enhanced Live Traffic. Awesome!

Didn’t know of this possibility until read your post. Thank you so much.

The good news is that when airborne I am seeing ELT traffic on my G1000 MFD map.

That’s good because the original ATC is ignoring the ELT traffic - don’t know why because pilot2atc will give you a traffic alert!

Yeah its strange that ATC doesnt give alerts but seeing them on the map is good enough. I find the ATC is a bit over the top anyway either giving alerts for traffic behind me that I cant see or that’s too far away to even show up on the MFD.

That’s weird. I get traffic alerts all the time with Simple Traffic.

No, this is normal. Simple Traffic shows only the liveries with the traffic handler of MSFS. So either live traffic is not working properly (this is a big problem of MSFS) or the AI traffic handler of MSFS is used - then it is not live traffic. ELT uses real live traffic with NON ATC AI aircraft - this means that ATC has no information about the aircraft from the live traffic. Therefore, it cannot manage the traffic. The only thing it can do is to give traffic warnings in the air. But the original ATC doesn’t do that either. It only works with pilot2ATC and the MFD shows the traffic on the screen. Pilot2ATC allows you to request to follow VFR traffic - and that will result in traffic warnings if there is any around you. The original ATC does not offer this possibility.
So to use the ATC aircraft you need flight plans - but there is no database of real traffic flight plans! And what would happen if the actual flight deviated from the plan when it was delayed? The only solution would be to record the live traffic for about 15 or 30 minutes and create a flight plan that can then be used for ATC. But then it’s not really live anymore and the program needs that time for recordings before you can use it . So ELT is a compromise between the system with a flight plan from previous years - like AIG - and the really bad solution of live traffic from MSFS - which doesn’t work properly.

Unless I’m misreading this, you are contradicting my personal experience in MSFS.

No, I only want to explain the different models of the traffic tools…

No he really isnt. Its very simple. For the in-game ATC to work and control traffic it needs flight plans. Both the in-game live traffic, AIG injected traffic and simple traffic, live or otherwise have flight plans. They are either downloaded as part of the program with ST, updated via the manager with AIG or created by the simulator for in-game live traffic, which includes traffic using simple traffics liveries or AIG models.

ELT has no flight plans so no ATC.

@Mauflo12961 I have an interesting observation.

When using ELT with MSFS LT, I get to see double aircraft for each airline on taxi. One seems to move like ELT (teleporting) and the other moves smoothly must like normal LT.

This is the scenario:
A. LT only these additional ELT aircraft are not visible (which is expected).

B. Only ELT - one aircraft per incidence with teleporting (as expected).

C. LT and ELT together - 2 aircraft (one behind the other) for each incidence. One moves smoothly and the other teleports.

It seems like LT gets the ELT injected traffic and handles the movements nicely, no teleporting.

Using just the ELT injection feed to LT without any display function seems to solve the teleporting issue, while at the same time benefiting from the ELT traffic injection.

Not sure if this is even a feasible option.

I cannot duplicate your observation with the same settings for in sim live traffic and ELT both working at the same time. Label callsign info on the sim live traffic did not match the callsign information in ELT either.
