I dont know if this will help, but I have the same issue with my Xbox a while back and I managed to fix it by going into my router and turning off the IPV6. This has fixed it for me (FWIW Iâm on the SE Asian server)

Speedtest of my connect gives good and expected results. Download through Content Manager is averaging just 2Mbit/s.
This was a problem during previous world updates but seemed to have been resolved. Back to being very poor again.
I do hope this is resolved well before and for the release 2024 in November!

Updating the game has been extremely slow from the very first release and itâs worse than ever today (less that 1Mbps for the last two days, usually anywhere from 3 to 30Mbps on a 1Gbps connection).
Edit : Downloading the latest world update and patches to the previous ones has been going on 5 days and counting, with the update mechanism being in-game it uses GPU time and power, so in the meantime it ruins my X-Plane VR performance.

Same issue for my downloads in Content Manager - they are INCREDIBLY SLOW within the simulator - and less than 1/100th of what they should be
I have just moved to a new provider providing 1Gbps with currently 450Mb/s speed being provided to the PC - which I checked whilst MSFS2020 was downloading at a very slow 3.6Mb/s
Why is the actual internet connection download speed (accessible in browser using Speedtest from Ookla) so much faster AT THE SAME TIME? Microsoft servers are definitely limiting speeds
Note: I have checked that I am running on the fastest MSFS server available at my location in London - currently West Europe (at 35ms), and have also checked that I have data setting for Bandwidth set to Unlimited
UPDATE: Interesting⊠after a long time of really slow speeds - it amazingly popped up to 90Mbps. On the last update. Totally unsure why this suddenly happened. Still too slow - but slightly better for a minute or two. Maybe it saw the finish line and got excited!
A long while back I had similar isssues and even spoke with MS support about it. What fixed it for me was turning off the IPv6 functionality in my router and the problem went away. For info I am using a TG789 router.
Looks like things havenât improved in over a year and would say got worse since release of 2024:
Just trying to download something from 2020 Marketplace and on a 250Mbps connection, Iâm barely getting 15-20Mbps download for the purchase:
This is using a wired connection so no wifi signal issues here.
Who can root cause my finding:
- Google Fiber, Nest - 28 Mbps maximum
- For kicks I tried Hot Spot on my iphone 11 to AT&T 5G⊠huge download speed

I got top speeds of 1.6GB/s on my line, which is Wifi. On my Apple stuff that runs best as usual.
FS2020 on Xbox X for a minor Update is acceptable in FS2020.
On PC I check in the morning, let it run all day through, at night if I am still up it is ready to go.
Very slow download speeds from content manager as new purchases.
I never seen something like this before with Microsoft which generally runs good.
They have to look for better solutions, not letting guess the customer who spend pretty good money on this already.
Obviously they do fail.
Root Cause - settings issue in the wifi network device. A reset of the interface fixed the problem and now see 300Mbps+

I still do not have good download speeds for whatsoeverâs download related with both Flight Simulators.
When I download a game from Ubisoft or Epic games I do have better download speeds by largely far(as performance on AI). Let me give a first view guess at least by ten times.
Personally I calculated by more than 25x. This is a serious issue over the last six months in the far outed EU.
I can only reply what I can see and resume on my screen on PC.
So by the way I got also a Xbox X, where I did abandon this game/FS2020 for lack of performance on common airliners.
I could see just the same results.
I had twice a ticket in with support. No solution, how is this possible, check your Asobo brothers over the border. 
I do not need fancy resolved smileys at all.
So i went back to MSFS2020 and holy sh⊠This download problems are still present?
I tried every solution given, including trying many VPN locations.
Its one way to farm play time count right? 
From my 900hrs in this sim, its easily 150hrs just sitting in the content manager download screen. I cant believe 5 years later this still isnt fixed
