Any tips on reducing the popping and crackling sounds when flying on full ABs in external view?
No sorry I donāt hear that
Tried a reinstall of the F16 and restart the sim?
Oh, okay. Worth a shot I suppose. Youāre not getting it? Are you on PC?
Iām on Xbox series x also
There is a switch at the back left FLCS FBW disable it
Huh?! Iāve no idea what that means! Iām fairly new to the sim and not at all familiar with the abbreviations.
So youāre saying I need to toggle something off to make the popping and crackling noise go away with full ABs on?
Edit: Oh WOW! Thank you so, so much for this! Itās pulling Gs like crazy nowā¦ No slowdowns. Finally feels like Iām piloting a Falcon. Thereās two toggles here: FBW and FBW ELAC. Iāve switched them both off. Man, it feels incredibleā¦ Thanks to you.
I think the Falcon is going to be my absolute favourite jet for a while.
Earlier today, I hit over 1,100 knots TAS on it with the mach reading hitting almost 2.0ā¦ ah, pure bliss.
I canāt help but wonder: did you not notice any popping or crackling sounds when you installed this jet for the first time, using full ABs in chase/external cam?
What kind of sound setup are you using? Spatial audio on or off? Apart from that, no audio settings in game.
I use stereo uncompressed on Xbox audio settings and use steelseries arctis pro wireless 7.1 headphones. I do hear a little crackle or distortion with afterburners using the external camera but I think it is intentional being so loud like it would be in real life I guess
Yep, definitely was led to believe the same that itās just how theyāve recorded the sound. The distortion, popping and crackling with ABs on can get a bit annoying. Thatās all. No big deal. Iāll live with it .
I tried the delete, reinstall and relaunch sim tip you recommendedā¦ Didnāt make an iota of difference. Iāve turned on rolling cache, set it to 64gigs and turned off spatial sound. Maybe itās a bit better, maybeā¦ But not by much.
Say, does the Super Hornet have a similar setting for pitch and roll, allowing me to stay agile and pull high Gs at high speeds?
Also, would appreciate it if anyone can figure out how to dump empty fuel tanks under the wings mid-flight.
Maybe thereās a PDF or something I can download which explains each aircraftās functions in detailā¦
64gb sounds high for the rolling cache Asobo recommends 16-32gb. No nothing like that on the FA18 unfortunately. For the external fuel tanks just bring up the fuel tab on the toolbar whilst in flight and set fuel to 0 on the external tank you donāt want
Oh? Thatās awesome but would have been cool to be able to jettison them and watch them fall from altitude, as opposed to just magically vanishing into thin air. Lol
Rolling cache: I thought the higher it is, the less the game stutters and the less melted blobs of wastelands you see when flying up close
Not sure if I can post pdfās here, but @SpeedDemon996 here is a link to the JustFlight website, where SC Designs has their manual posted for download.
Click the āhereā hyperlink about halfway down the page.
The F/A-18 has a G override as well but itās not as agile as the F-16.
Many thanks for this!!!
F15 manual downloaded too
How do you activate the G -override on SX? By pressing the Y (autopilot) button? Thatās what Iām doing - when hit at just the right time, your pilot can easily surpass 10 Gs, but itās not always on command - only during certain maneuvers.
Is that it?
Oh, excellent! Many thanks for this. Itās going to be a busy weekend
Edit: Hmm, apparently, youāve to pay for it. So, $33.99 for the jet and another $34.99 for the manual?
You know, now that I think about it, when the SH is going supersonic, you pan the camera around and as it pans back from silence to the sonic boom, you hear a crackling, popping and slightly distorted sound in the ABs too. But itās only momentarily during the āboomā effect and not constant like it is with the F-16 - so itās probably something everyone gets, particularly if they are playing on a reasonably powerful amp and speaker setup.
I suppose if the devs ever read this, they might adjust the dynamic frequency range for the AB effects, thatās the only thing I can think of - in other games, the AB sounds are so clean yet loud and intimidating. Itās all in the dynamic frequency range and how devs utilise it.
I donāt know how to do that on the XboX, on the PC there is an option I believe. The human body can sustain 10G for short periods, doesnāt mean the aircraft is able to pull that many Gs without stalling depending on your speed in relation to corner speed.
The last couple of big Formula One crashes were a lot higher peak recorded G!
Roman Grosjean (Bahrain) = 67g
Max Verstappen (Silverstone) = 51g
Well yeah but then we are talking about microseconds
Yea, a few of them haha. I wouldnāt fancy it. Especially if I was on fire moments later!
@SpeedDemon996 So you cannot download the manual from that link? You should not have to buy anything, nor even log in to the website to download the manual.
