I can confirm I was able to download both the F16 and F15 manuals from your link directly without any issue.
The sound is created by Sim Acoustics and they know about the occasional crackling reports as they mentioned them to me the other week. Nobody is sure of the cause but once pinned down it will be sorted
Appreciate you guys looking into it!
No audio engineer or expert here but I think it may have to do with the audio dynamic range when ABs are fully activated. It happens on the Super Hornet too at Mach 1 when you plan the camera forward and then back in external viewā¦ youāll momentarily hear a crackle or popping sound with the sonic boom.
What a beauty though the Falconā¦ You guys nailed that thunderous engine roar
@DEAN01973 Would you happen to know how to connect with the Falcon developers? The AB nozzle does not close and open with throttle manipulationā¦stays the same even with full ABs. I havenāt checked the other jets but the free Super Hornet will see itās engine nozzles opening up and getting smaller according to the throttle setting. Neat touch!
Iām asking too many questions, sorry, but keen on knowing a few things from experienced Falcon users:
-
Thereās a FLCS which lets you override the pitch and roll (rear left console) but thereās also a FLCS toggle right behind the throttle. What does that do?
-
Anyway to get the aircraft to dump empty fuel tanks in the air once used up? I think the Mig 29 can do this, not sure about the Falcon.
Thanks!
@Raynen Youāre a veteran here, thought I might tag you!
I have their XP11 sound mod. Any plans to get the in helmet sound option without the breathing sounds?
You can see how quiet it is (minus the line noise) here.
Does it resolve the crackling and static with AB fully engaged? Iām on Xbox though.
Say, how come the engine nozzle doesnāt open up on full AB? Is that a design choice on the Devās part?
The crackling only appears for some users - itās not actually the sound packās fault, although we donāt know the actual cause. Also, I think youāve asked these questions here, on my page, and also via Private Message. Please, asking in one place is enough.
What official liveries do you would like to have for the future? What should be available on marketplace?
For me: South Korea, Norway, Chile, a couple of modern āHaveGlassā vipers, European lizard one CAS viper, italy, more hellenic and israel F-16s, Poland, ??
I thought the F-16 was called the Viperš
For users on amp and speakers Iām guessing. Appears to be an issue with the dynamic frequency range for AB because doesnāt happen with the other jets Iām using - e.g. Mig 29 and Super Hornet. Only when I pan the camera from front to rear flying past the sound barrier, do I hear a very brief popping sound with these two jets - but with the F-16, it is constant in chase view.
Dynamic frequency range needs tuningā¦
Maybe it did later with upgrades and revisionsā¦ But originally known as Fighting Falcon. Maybe in some parts of the world, they call it Viper.
Do you know how to activate smoke at the wingtipsā¦ I get exhaust smoke for acrobatics but not the wingtips. Any clue?
@Raynen Insights please!
@SpeedDemon996 , sorry the F-16 is not overly familiar to me, not much I can offer here other than the Fighting Falcon/Viper confusion. The jet officially was dubbed the Fighting Falcon when the USAF contract was given to General Dynamics, but referred to as Viper within the pilot community and more commonly referred to as the Viper since. Whether Lockheed Martin has officially renamed it Viper as well since then I donāt know.
There is no smoke at the wing-tips, only aerobatic smoke - too much smoke effects drags down frame rates too much.
Cool, makes sense.
By the way, I wonder why flying the F-16 makes the game stutter more. Fairly certain Iāve read reports of other people experiencing this as well, be it PC or SX.
Its officially the āFighting Falconā Viper is a nickname given to it by pilots etc. there is a great book called āViper Pilotā.
I was asking more as a tung in cheek as pilots did refer to it as that. canāt wait to get it
I canāt thank the devs enough for this F-16, i absolutely love it to bits.
