F18 - Trim is visually inverted

Some people just need to learn things the hard way. Go find a real airplane and learn. Muting this thread.

Bringing this back on topic about the FA18-E/F specifically.
(not even about the C/D, which looks similar but IS very much a different aircraft).

I’m not 100% sold that the depiction of the elevators is incorrect.
Why? Because “trim” is being used, but I haven’t flown it in a very long time.

I suspect that using “trim” messes up the visual somehow, or it’s not completely/improperly coded(probably this) causing this visual.
Remember also that many functions of the flight control computer and it’s various settings, are not modeled or even truly known about to the public. The basic computer control/functions are only modeled in the msfs version.
(but must be a nightmare to code even this. Way beyond me me too Ray  )

I’ll avoid all the acronyms & computer control names- trying to speak plainly…
Using trim manually, should not be “normally” be available in the E/F.
By that I mean trim should not be available on whatever button/key you have assigned. Think Airbus flybywire, only much, much more advanced because of 12-14 different flight control surfaces that all interact(can’t remember how many exactly right now) and coupled with some initial design mistakes, the computer control for the E/F is extremely complicated. It could not fly without this specialized programming.

Trim adjustment as commonly known/used is not used in this flybywire version, in normal flight.
There is t/o trim set ( push button-lower left panel ) which sets trim for carrier take off. HOWEVER that too is incorrect SEE HERE and “trim” is used when in AoA landing mode. Trim can be manually set for t/o also,4 degrees up is not required for airfield.

Work around:
Trim should not be used unless your setting it for take off or in landing AoA mode… Don’t touch your trim button(s). A slight 'bump" to the stick to set your desired attitude, is all it needs.
The more accurate your joystick is, the easier you’ll find this to do.
