Thanks,
MSFS Team

It still has VERY obvious cut/paste issues. Who released this? It still says Archer in the intro. It has a larger engine and less fuel than the Archer, yet the range is the SAME. This really wasnt meant to be an orginal aircraft was it? I’m disappointed. Very low attention to detail.

I can’t get it to start, whats the secret?

Remove the covers, mixture full rich, and select a fuel tank with fuel.

Maybe I missed it but the only covers I see are near the props. Fuel tank is selected, fuel pumps are on. Mixture is full props are up. engine is primed , but I’m not getting any fuel pressure.

Where is this available for download? Aftermarket? MSFS 2020? 2024?

In 2024 it will just show up.

Got it. I was only searching in the Marketplace. Much appreciated.

For me the Mixture lever animates with my honeycomb bravo, but it does not control fuel.
I can only control the fuel by dragging the lever with my mouse.

EDIT:
After the engine is started then the lever works properly.

Hi folks,

For clarification, this plane is automatically available in My Library for all MSFS 2024 owners. You don’t need to go into the Marketplace to purchase it. As previously announced, this is the third (of four) aircraft the team is giving to all MSFS 2024 owners for free as our way of making up for the poor launch experience.

For MSFS (2020) pilots, you can purchase the PA-28 Dakota from the in-sim Marketplace for USD $14.99 (plus the usual 33% discount for owners of the Deluxe/Premium Deluxe Editions).

Thanks,
MSFS Team

Carenado made this, as most other single engine Pipers or Cessnas.
It doesn’t surprise me one bit if it’s cut and paste from other Pipers.

This just feels like a contractual obligation rather than something they actually cared about.

No one is having issues with the Mixture lever when starting the engine?

It’s working with my hardware mixture.

Did you start cold and dark?

Yes. I always do.

Hello @TJTurner,

I can also confirm the hardware mixture control is working normally for me too. I have a Thrustmaster Warthog throttle quadrant and tested starting cold & dark in MSFS 2024.

Tried it once, will park it for good. And to think this was planned to be sold for 14.99 (and actually is in MSFS 2020). Jeez…

Well I think the texture work is really nice. Even if it is a remaster of the Dakota they put out in FS2004 they know how to make an aircraft look great.

I’m going to do an around 200nm flight later and see how it is compared to the book when it comes to performance.
