MSFS 2024 - List of all first party aircraft with links to official info for each

MSFS 2020 launched with 30 aircraft.
MSFS 2024 now has over 130 first-party aircraft with a steady flow of new ones on the way. msfs-2024

I wanted to explore details of planes in this rapidly growing fleet, but it became tedious to search for official details scattered among 5 years of news releases, forum threads, and Youtube videos. So I created this consolidated list with links to official sources of info for each aircraft:

  • Official Press Release for each (PR)
  • Official Poll and Feedback threads for each - Give feedback in these threads!
  • Official Guide - for those that exist
  • Official Video - for those that exist on the MSFSOfficial Youtube channel

Microsoft and Asobo have built an amazing quantity of aircraft. Some have great system depth and functionality, but I worry that many of them have been forgotten and neglected as the MSFS SDK evolves over time. In today’s Dev Q&A (2025-10-08) Jorg mentioned that 70 of these planes were getting updates to bring them more in line with the 2024 version. It is unclear how many are currently “2024 Native” already, and how many may not get updates at all.

I hope that by making it easier to explore the fleet this way, each aircraft will get more attention and feedback - and hopefully be kept up to date more frequently. I will attempt to keep this list up to date. Please let me know of any errors or omissions and I will edit as needed.

Edit 2025-10-10 - Based on requests, removed the new Microsoft Marketplace Exclusive Series (currently just the FlightFX Citation X) as it is for 3rd party aircraft.

The Citation X is an MS-contracted aircraft? I thought that was a pure 3rd party add-on.

How did I miss that MS is involved?

The PR says:

The FlightFX Cessna Citation X is the debut aircraft in Microsoft Flight Simulator’s “Exclusive Series,” and is available only in the Microsoft Flight Simulator Marketplace for its lifetime.

So I think it’s a 3rd party aircraft, but exclusively available in MSFS Marketplace… I included it because of the “exclusivity”, but the lines defining who is responsible for aircraft are definitely getting blurrier with more teams working on individual planes, and these kinds of contracts.

With Asobo focussing on the sim, and aircraft being commissioned from more outside developers, I think this is what future additions will look like. Also, the “Exclusive Series” implies more to come, maybe the Phenom (correction Preator 600)…

This is an excellent resource, thanks for taking the time to compile it.

I am sort of baffled that the Microsoft Marketing department hasn’t put something like this together. Then again, I see it from a User’s perspective, and marketing rarely does.

Oh my gosh, I love this.

It would be nice to be able to look up aircraft information.

Thank you for your hard work.

That’s exactly why I made it - I was tired of trying to figure out which plane was which.

Note some planes don’t have much info because they were just included in, for example, the release of 2024, or 2020, or 40th Anniversary update. But where I could find individual PRs, Guides, etc (from the official flightsimulator.com sources only) I linked.

Brilliant, thank you for this. It must have taken ages.

We do indeed have a listing for developers, but it is not broken down by aircraft.
If you need any further links, they may be in this:

This is fantastic - bravo! As you called out the Local Legends, I would also call out the Famous Flyers (the Skywagon and Dakota). Great stuff, all around!

Great list but i don’t think the X belongs there otherwise you’d have to add the A340 as well. Anything First party or commissioned by first party is $20 or below. Maybe they could clarify that though.

Thank you for taking the time to write the post and do the research.
I think it would be best to start by clarifying what exactly “first-party aircraft” means in the context of MSFS.

Yes, I wasn’t sure but I included it because the FlightFX Citation X was announced by MSFS as a “Marketplace Lifetime Exclusive” - which means you can only get it from MS, and MS is responsible for its availability.

I have a feeling more planes that Microsoft commissions will be like this (I’m guessing the Phenom), since Asobo is focussed on the sim, and MS wanted to commission aircraft work out to developers.

But the iniBuilds A340 is available from iniBuilds, so it’s not a first party plane (unless I’m mistaken?)

I can see an argument for the X because Microsoft actually branded an entire series over it - but I think the line gets drawn at whether or not Microsoft is listed as one of the developers in the Marketplace as they do with the LLs and FFs (Microsoft/Carenado, Microsoft/iniBuilds, etc) - if the X is purely “FlightFFX” in that field, I would agree with its omission here.

I started with the planes included in the 4 Tiers:

  • Standard
  • Deluxe
  • Premium
  • Aviator

I added the 4 “Make Good” aircraft, because they are presented as Famous Flyer and Local Legend addtions with the same first party feedback threads.

The Citation X is a grey area, but I included it because it is “exclusive” to MS Marketplace for its lifetime and only available from Microsoft.

I do think it would be helpful if the Community Managers or Forum Moderators could ask Microsoft what defines “First Party” - with the FlightFX Citation X as an example.

I did not know this - what is the source of this info?

I am neither but in my interpretation (as also mentioned above) I consider anything which lists Microsoft as a developer/owner as “first-party.” To be more granular, if it’s an Asobo aircraft, I consider that pure “first party” but if it’s developed by another group (Carenado, iniBuilds, etc) but owned by Microsoft, it’s “first-party partner.” And then if Microsoft has no involvement (even if it’s from one of the aforementioned partner developers, like iniBuilds’ A340 for example) it’s “third-party.”

I believe most people would agree that the Citation X should be considered a 3rd-party payware aircraft rather than a first-party one.

I tend to agree with what @Zadma wrote.

Let’s ask if the Community Managers can ask Microsoft to define it.

Or maybe @FlightFXLLC can help us figure it out?
