On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being best), how do you rate your Overall Enjoyment of this aircraft?
The Nav Lights are installed backwards, right now the green is on the left wing and red on the right wing, and the Strobe Lights are coloured instead of white.
It looks right on the ground, but the light from the bulbs are completely wrong.
On takeoff, regardless of weight, the aircraft immediately rolls onto one wheel.
On landing, and rollout the aircraft often bounces between wheels.
When taxiing on firm ground, but especially on grass and bush regions, the aircraft tips very easily.
A bush plane like this should have a much softer suspension to handle uneven terrain and some small rocks.
Yeah, there’s something wrong with the wheels or suspension, most noticeable on take-offs and landings. I find it very hard to land on bush or rescue situations.
I could make a bug report but when there are so many minor issues, it takes too much effort to post them all. So many small issues sent to Zendesk for 2020 were not fixed after 4 years, so…
Every landing in career mode the landing gear and tires get damaged, even if it’s a smooth landing. As someone who has lots of time in a Super Cub (and other similar airplanes in real life), trust me that these airplanes can take a lot. It’s way too sensitive in game.
Frustrated with the tail wheel damage every landing in carreer mode, I had to sell it and now I need to earn credits to get a second hand broken C172, really dissapointing for first carrer plane.
The minimum pitch for the propeller seems way too steep. Even with the RPM lever at full, it can’t get to 2700 RPM until you reach 70 kts. It basically acts like a fixed pitch prop for takeoff and landing.
Other than how easy it is to tip on takeoff and landing. From my experience with building bush planes and taildraggers in SimplePlanes, I believe the cause of this is the tyres aren’t stretching/scrubbing enough before loosing traction, and it’s causing it to be really twitchy while going in a straight line. Plus the suspension is too stiff.
Other than those two issues I think it is really nice. I really love the veriety of liveries and their designs. Plus the model and sound design are fantastic! And I really like the addition of the big tyres variant! Although, I kinda wish it was a Carbon Cub EX rather than an XCub lol.
Agree with all here. The tires/gear are way to easy to damage, the fixed speed prop does not work correctly (which is funny because it was much better in fs2020), and it feels funky on takeoff and high speed taxi. The tailwheel is either glued to the runway or not effective at all, and it rolls up onto one main far too easily.
Tires and gear need work. Bush landing is impossible without breaking the landing gear or getting a flat with perfect landing. Rescue missions are impossible. Real pilot here too.
Floats control panel shows incorrect landing gear state on Amphibian variant.
When landing gear is up (for water landing) only right side is indicated as up, left stays same
This Tailwheel is really hard to land or even takeoff. No fun at all and unusable in carrer mode.
Generally the handling of the tailwheel aircraft takes the fun out of career mode.
Tailwheels are way different to other aircraft when it comes to controlling them on the ground, taking turns or take off and landing. Would suggest reading upon what is groundloop and so on
