Thanks,
MSFS Team

I get no plane sounds with this. All external environmental sounds working fine, wind, birds chirping, traffic etc, but the plane itself is completely silent. No door sounds, no switch clicks and most importantly no engine sounds.

This happened to me a couple of hours ago too. Restarted the sim (gulp!) but it worked.

My favorite plane in the sim thus far.

I agree. I picked a random field near mount Sumbing on Java (indonesia) and it took off within a few feet. Then flew to the volcano. It’s so much fun!

Figured out my sound problem. Seems to be a bug affecting some streamed planes, if you delete the plane’s folder from the StreamedPackages folder the game will redownload it and hopefully fix any sound issues. So now I have sound!

Haven’t actually flown yet as I’m just poking around the cockpit after firing up the engine. Found the slats control on the stick which is quite neat but there’s some issues with bindings. If you use the mouse you can incrementally extend or retract the slats. It uses the spoiler commands but it seems ‘increment’ and ‘decrement’ spoiler commands do nothing so you have to use ‘extend’ and ‘retract’ spoilers which is full on and full off, no incremental adjustments. You can use a spoiler axis just fine, but as the real thing is a two way button on the stick I’d rather use a hat on my stick to do the same. Minor niggle but thought it’d be worth reporting.

Edit: actually ignore all that. It works fine, there was just a bit of a delay using the increment/decrement commands for me. Working just fine!

I really like that livery customisation thing in the notepad. GotFriends always come out with the good stuff! Now to fly.

This plane is pretty awesome. It’s like a Savage Cub on steroids. I took off at a place with a 20 knot headwind and was in the air a couple of seconds after throttling up. It’s really fun to fly, the handling is great both on the air and on the ground. It’s easily one of the best new planes for 2024.

It’s an incredible plane and is definitely going to be a ‘main’ plane for me for a while, fantastic for exploring. The only issue I have may very well be a skill issue but the tailwheel seems to behave strangely for me and every time I’ve landed it I’ve spun out. This may be normal for taildraggers and I’m not used to them and add to that I have a twist rudder, but I wonder if there’s something going on with the wheel sensitivity vs the rudder.

That’s called ground looping and is something you gotta be careful about with tail draggers

Thanks for that I thought it probably was an issue with me rather than a bug. I’ll have to be gentler on the rudder in the future and practise.

Yeah, the flight physics on this one reaches the closest to the real taildraggers on the ground handling. Two-wheel vs. three-wheel touchdowns, you have to be on those pedals and dont let that stick move forward after the touchdown; I’ve paid for it in the sim a time or two. It’s a lot of fun, and it allows FS2024 to show off those low-level graphics—truly stunning IMO.

How do you start this plane up, is there any documentation?

There’s a manual here : Aircraft Manuals - Microsoft Flight Simulator

Also, you can just follow the checklist, it’s pretty straightforward to start.

Thanks I was just missing the fuel open. Cheers!

I’ve been waiting for it more than all the other flying machines in the new sim! It looks great! But someone messed up something in the alignment/CG of the aircraft and actually in the cargo/payload loading management. There is also a very strange behavior of the flight model at low speeds (I have real experience on dozens of different aircraft (unfortunately not on it), but if there are practically no questions about the X Cub (it is understandable and correlates with my experience of flying on taildraggers), then I will not understand Norden in any way… If we take the previous virtual years on Savage Cub/Carbon in MSFS2020, it becomes even more unclear - why is this so?

Does anyone know how to change the altimeter units to InHG?

I deleted my post as I was wrong the fuelling does work, but along the same lines I do see that you cannot make the pilot any heavier than 165lbs in the cargo version at least.

Also by default the transponder is on when you start the plane, I’m not sure if that’s down to the G3X rather than the plane itself.

Does any one else have issues with their G3X shutting off mid-flight? If I go backup battery it comes back on then eventually dies out again.

Anyone figure out the tailwheel lock?

Well…i can’t understand - why Got gravel didn’t make such realistic tailwheel as on their DoubleEnder in MSFS2020
