Thanks,
MSFS Team

This plane seems to be underpowered at the moment. I can’t get it up past 13000 and it’s not even heavily loaded. Also, the condition levers can’t be moved using controllers.

The aircraft looks great and handles really well. There are quite a few problems though. First of all the FMC doesn’t work, it does not even seem to have a full AIRAC in it at the moment.

There are also problems with most of the cockpit lights, only the dome seems to work. The INT light dials don’t seem to work at all (or well, the big one to the right seems to change the lights of the display option panel thing on the glareshield).

The sounds seems a bit off as well, especially during engine startup. I would expect more sounds before you introduce fuel as well as way more sound when fuel is introduced, now there is (almost) no engine sound until the engine is fully started. I also noticed that the wipers are missing sounds as well.

I have quite some more issues, but I won’t mention them all. But lastly the idle thrust seems way too strong, I got up to 35kts GS (it would have speeded up even more if i hadn’t breaked) on idle thrust, that doesn’t seem all too right?

So yea, a fantastic model that flies really well… but there is quite a bit to improve on it.

I believe there should be an option for HPA altimeter as well.

And, I guess im are getting ahead of my selfe here, we need a functional aircraft first. But I was really dissapointed when I saw that the aircraft wasn’t fited with the collins display (on the PFD/MFD)

I started a topic about Saab 340 on Aircraft & Systems forum and here’s a link to it:

IFR flying is impossible as EHSI won’t show LNAV track, VOR’s not working on ehsi or standby instruments, no morse id listenable either - ILS on the other hand works. Cockpit lighting isn’t working. Cockpit panel bg texture looks like it’s made of wood, which is painted white. Drag seems too high on higher speeds but othe than that it flies quite nicely. Plane and systems seems to be about 50 % ready at this point.

I hope MS / Carenado will fix this premium deluxe product asap. It is a wonderful plane which deserves to be simulated well.

It appears the Nav data is out of date:

The 340 is known by its pilots to be a bit of an underpowered airplane. I haven’t really tested it out enough to know what it’s like fully loaded for a flight, but pilots have said it has trouble reaching 15-18k on short hops.
Having the condition levers being able to be bound to axis would be very very nice!

Very happy to see my favorite turboprop added to the sim! A few comments from my end, the start up sounds are rather poor, the rest of the sounds are quite nice! It just doesn’t have that “turboprop coming to life” feel.
Also, the aircraft feels like it has a very high tendency to either sink or float on flare. It seems like even slight adjustments in pitch can vary the vertical speed lots.
Would love to see this beauty properly tuned for some cargo hops/throwback puddle jumper routes!

No hydraulic pump scream is a immersion killer for this aircraft.

The 340A specifically suffered from being fairly underpowered aside from that can’t speak too much in the As (they were gone by the time I was hired). However with the CT7-9Bs (a GE engine) the B+ performed fairly well on a climb with light loads, the company I worked for we could hold 34 but those rear seats were normally blocked off in the booking system. That’s being said, never had concern even at heavy load factors (just not so nippy on climb) or if someone forgot the tail stand during loading but she cruised quite well for what she was at 15-18k (trues were around 280kts on the high side 260kts more common) depending on conditions. Also a very tough airplane for what I remember (15 years ago) The biggest lack of performance I encountered was the cockpit seats which was uncomfortable as all get out and the CTOT constantly inop. lol. Haven’t had the opportunity to fly the in sim version very much as I had some technical issues Day 1 and 2 to form a solid opinion. Definitely lacked in the sound category, looking forward to future updates. Hope this helps

Lovely to see another turboprop, was very excited when I got to know the Saab 340 in the sim!

Just done a couple of flights, but I really like it so far! In general the sounds are good, looks nice and flies well. Some issues that were mentioned, but overall happy about it!

Great info! They need more people like you on the team!

Flying on the American Eagle Saab 340B as a kid in the 90’s was one of the experiences that helped inspire me to become a pilot. I absolutely love turboprops and the Saab 340 and ATR are among the beefiest and the best.

The GE CT-7-9B is one powerful turboiprop and the Saab 340 feels underpowered in the sim. I’d love to see that fixed along with the sound and more liveries.

There’s a continuing problem with their depiction in FS2020/FS2024. SOUND. You have some of the best sounding turboprops ever made in these sims and none of the spool, compression, ignition, and blade chop are conveyed adequately.

The incredible 'Beta Howl" of these aircraft are particularly lackluster, bordering on missing entirely.

When turboprops like these go into Beta range, the howl is demonic and deafening. It’s heard across airfields.

Beta ranges are used to help slow the aircraft in taxiing to save the company $ on brakes. Seeing/hearing these aircraft taxi is one of the most satisfying sounds in aviation yet Asobo seem to keep missing this.

Black Square did it very well with their turbine Duke and the Cessna Sky Courier in 2024 actually sounds decent.

The ATR, but especially the Saab 340B need new sounds for when their props go into Beta range. More liveries are needed as well. American Eagle and Northwest Airlink are absolute musts.

I have been making quick trials with all the planes.
This one is very heavy on my end. Can’t exceed 35 fps. 20-25 in cockpit. I don’t see this problem with other airframes so far

This is my biggest issue. Any idea on how to fix this?

The Saab is the main reason I bought this sim and so far it’s been very frustrating trying to enjoy it. It’s usable but coming from an already working model it’s a step backwards. I don’t want to be negative but the 2 biggest issues so far are not being able to bind the condition levers and the sound. I’m confident that these will be fixed I just hope it’s sooner than later. I have yet to do a full flight in it so I’m not sure about the navigation and autopilot but will do soon. Can someone please be an angel and update this airplane!

Is it just me, or are the indicator lights all screwed up on this plane? In the daytime, one can barely see the overhead indicator lights. However, at night, many of them blind me. Also, the landing gear lever light at night is brighter than the sun!

Ditto to all the other comments here. Startup sounds are absent, the rest of the sounds are underwhelming at best. Aircraft is underpowered, cannot reach an expected cruise speed with proper power settings. Cockpit light simply doesn’t work, The FMC appears to work which is great, probably because working title developed it. I bought premium deluxe literally JUST because of the Saab. I have disappointed that its basically not flyable at the moment. I hope to see some updates soon, or at perhaps some community mods.

Where can we find the manual for this plane?

It’s Carenado. They never include a manual, unfortunately.
