On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being best), how do you rate your Overall Enjoyment of this aircraft?
The handling on the ground is better than in msfs2020.
As mentioned before the side windows are weirdly bright at nights and there seems to be some kind of flood light in cockpit, which cannot be turned off anywhere. It kinda disturbs flying at nights, in VR at least.
Otherwise I started enjoying this plane. I hope we don’t have to wait another now two years to get the Saab 340 in same, basic functioning level as ATR.
Standing next to the ATR 72-600 on the ground in pre-flight mode after loading, I can hear the engine igniters ticking away with the aircraft un-powered. So far, I am unable to get it started up.
auto target speed (magenta) doesn’t switch to cruise speed upon reaching crz FL, it did that on its own in 2020, no idea how its supposed to work really… just noting the difference with 2020
Aircraft at selected altitude = cruise speed at the selected altitude
Aircraft above selected altitude = cruise speed at the selected altitude
But this thing doesn’t resemble the real ATR at the slightest. Screens are too small, wrong colours on cockpit panels, it doesn’t look or feel like an ATR.
What was advertised versus what we got (or Blackbird versus Asobo ).
I think the overall experience would be quite satisfying except as I mentioned in the other thread it just locks up on me at random part of the flight. which ruins anything good about the package.
I pointed this out earlier, in my opinion it is a serious mistake that needs to be pointed out first. The screens in real life don’t have that little separation that there is in asobo’s atr.
Also the position of the screens is also a bit wrong, they should be higher up. A little too many mistakes if we look at it with the real plane next to it
I have reported that before but the response I got was that it won’t be changed because it is depending on when the aircraft was built. As a former ATR 72-600 pilot I know that is non-sense.
Maybe the screen size and placement is correct but the bezels are too thin. In any case it looks off and that is not the only thing weird about it.
in 2020 other aircraft experience it as well
in 2024, i’ve been hitting them pretty hard, trying to force a freeze, to see if the problem remains
up until now, only the atr froze on me, all the other “freezers” seem to be good
OK, thanks.
Man, I wish that ATR would not freeze but I guess not much to do about it.
I can live with the discrepancies but when it freezes it make me want just give it all up.
No version of the ATR can be found on the online flight planner either, I can file an IFR flight for the air tractor or the draco, but not the ATR. How does that make any sense.
Something is off with the sorting. I have 5 variants of the 42-600, 3 Highlines and two liveries, one 600s, 5 72-600, same deal 3 highlines and two liveries, and one 72-600f.
