AAU4 Avionics and Aircraft Update

Jorg Nuemann just announced that AAU4 - Avionics and Aircraft Update 4 - will be released along side Sim Update 5 “in a few weeks”. Interestingly, he said it was available to try in the booth at FSWeekend, even though it’s not part of the SU5 beta testing.

“You should think of this as our plan - our plan is to upgrade all of our 2020 Payware planes to the 2024 standard, which can mean new artwork, better audio, new systems, career integration, new liveries, whatever makes sense per plane. We did make over 30 Payware planes, so it’s going to take us a while. We will roll these out as part of AAUs - so there will be AAU5, AAU6, and it will take us some time but they will all be coming. And what’s also great is that these upgrades are free - for those of you who already own these planes, it’s going to be free.” – Jorg Neumann

The details for AAU 4 are: 5 updated aircraft, plus Avidyne IFD 540 & IFD 550 avionics as sim attachments (drop in) for developers.

  • ATR 42 and 72 (Expert Series 01 | Expansion PR | Poll ) updates from Hans Hartman: now 2024 native, supports career, passengers, cargo, and VIP, new CFD model, new Air Tahiti High Line variant, new liveries like Loganair and Indigo, MSFS EFB and Flight Planner support, in plane EFB, Nav and Autopilot improvement, improved cabin cam.

  • Antonov AN-2 (Famous Flyer 05 | Poll ) from AT Simulations, conversion to 2024, supports career passenger, cargo, crop dusting, fire fighting, and sky diving. Updated electrical system, fuel system, liveries, wipers, EFB, checklists, night lighting, wheels, skis and floats, GPS equipped panel (from Working Title)

  • Fokker F.VII (Local Legend 02 | Poll ) orginally by Orbx, reworked by IniBuilds, extended career support, dedicated passenger, private and cargo configurations. Improved flight model and artwork.

  • Latécoère Model 631 (Local Legend 09 | Poll ) updated for 2024 by BlueMesh, fixed over 40 bugs, aligned fuselage, new animations, passengers visible in seats.

  • Savoia-Marchetti S.55 (Local Legend 04 | Poll ) by Mike Johnson, updated for 2024.

  • Avidyne IFD 550 & 540 GPS Navigators. An aircraft-specific version came with the Boom XB-1 last year. Working Title have made these available to developers as Sim Attachments (which I think means “drop in”)

Here is the full AAU4 announcement from Jorg Nuemann’s keynote video at FSWeekend (starting at 3 min 15 seconds):

Great to see the ATR being fixed. My favourite aircraft with a few bugs that are tough to do multiple legs.

Seems like SU5 launched without AAU4, at least ATR still shows 1.0.49 for me… :frowning:

I’m sure it’s on its way

Hello, I updated to SU5, but I don’t see the 2024 native ATR anywhere. Could someone from the MSFS team comment on this? Thank you!

AAU4 is a separate release, I’m sure it will be posted soon (was scheduled to be released alongside SU5… separately, but at / around the same time)

Has anyone found how to enable the new Cessna 172 avionics? I have MSFS 2024 Premium and only see the Garmin 530/430 combination… Oh, never mind. I see AAU4 is not scheduled until next week (May 5).

Hey @FlipperAlloy30

We’ve raised this with the Dev Team and are waiting to get confirmation about the Avidyne avionics. If I hear back I’ll be sure to respond here!

Cheers

Avidyne IFD 550 & 540 GPS Navigators are here. Just select the plane equipped via Config menu.

Yes, I can confirm.

Correct, you need to look for the “IFD” versions:

The IFD variant is not selectable/available in my 1.7.27.0, when selecting C172 Skyhawk G1000 - Variant. I have only the regular G1000 (cargo, skis, amphibious…)

  • Empty Community.
  • I have even tested with IFD package Streamed or Downloaded (at the next boot, MSFS display Package installed)

The IFD variants come with the C172 Classic.
Do you have the 7.18.0 version installed ?

You don’t see any IFD variant then ?

I’m also seeing the IDF versions in my MS store aviator edition:

I’m using the streamed version:

A screen shot of yours shows IFD variant in the G1000 version. I will check if the variant is available with my 172 steamed gauges.

What 7.18.0 version are you refering to?

Apologize, I kept the G1000 selected and moved the scroll bar, that is why the screenshot is confusing. There is no G1000 IFD.
