Thanks,

Very nice recreation of the Ford Trimotor, but I’ve noticed a few things and I’m not sure if they’re working as intended. The solenoid switches for the left and center engines stay on throughout the whole flight and can’t be turned off, while the right engine’s solenoid shuts off by itself. The left and center solenoids also flicker between being on and off.

The gauges tend to flicker when the aircraft is stationary, which I don’t know if this is intended.

Another thing I’ve noticed is with the light switches. Sometimes they work fine, but other times they stop working entirely. In some cases, they’ll work for a few minutes and then turn off completely. Also I get constant ‘Incorrect Fuel Mixture’, but the engines work fine.

For context, I spawned using the ‘Fly Now’ button on the runway with all systems started up and used the Wheels variant, which appears as ‘NewGuinea’?.

still missing in my Library :anguished:

I have the Trimotor with skis but no other version will load

Was there supposed to be a 2024 upgrade?

As far as I’m aware, none of the MSFS local legends/famous flyers have had substantial updates for FS24, although Asobo has indicated they’re at least working on making some of the more severely broken ones useable in FS24.

The developer of the Trimotor hasn’t really updated or fixed any of their LL/FF releases that are broken in that simulator (the 707, Stratoliner, and C-46 all come to mind), so I’d be very surprised if the Trimotor got a FS24 update.

A few days ago, there was an update, which fixed at least the broken magneto switches…

They said on one of the developer streams that they were starting to work on updates for some of the FF/LL aircraft and there have been updates recently to several of them but this is the first time I have heard somebody identify what has been fixed. I don’t know why they can’t have a change list somewhere detailing what has been fixed.

Has anyone been able to start the Trimotor recently? My engines are not starting, no matter how much i prime..Since last SU4 Beta…

They are finicky for timing and process. Setting your view so you can see prop, floor switches and toggles helps

Set mixture full rich.

Prime 2 or 3x

Floor switch and wait for it to pop up.

Immediately click toggle, get mouse over magneto and watch prop. As prop starts spinning start counting seconds. You should be getting smoke from the engine too

The really finicky part.

At the 4 second mark (not less, maybe a little more?) spin magneto to both. It should fire.

This worked for me 2 days ago. I use the garmin cockpit. Hopefully the avionics don’t matter

I can never get the third engine to start.

EDIT: Tried again today and I was able to start all 3 without issue. Might just be finicky? I think if you flood the engines, simply restarting doesn’t reset that. I think you need to go to the main menu and totally restart the flight.

With a bit of practice, I can now start all 3 engines every time without trouble. Whether or not it should be this tricky is debatable, but the plane is working as it should for me!

Looks like this aircraft has received its AAU5 update today! Hopefully release notes pending release. Release notes here.

Can the CMs find out which partner developer made the changes for this release (assuming it wasn’t Asobo)? Thanks!

EDIT: Disregard - Marketplace product page confirms this conversion/update were managed by iniBuilds.

We can finally open the door to the cabin! We’re not imprisoned in the cockpit!

Except now I can’t start the 1st or 2nd engine!!

Well, I give up… I’ve been trying a variety of different ways (after following the checklists didn’t work) and I can’t get either of the side engines to start.

Not sure what’s going on there - I just followed the checklist and got a clean start on all three first try. Definitely an unusual procedure compared to what I’m used to, but just followed the procedure to a T and it worked :person_shrugging:

Haha really?? I have all the fuels on, I prime 4-5 times, I click the starter thing and when it flips up I click the solenoid, then after 3 seconds I do magneto. Is there anything I’m missing or doing wrong?

Are there preflight covers you haven’t removed possibly? Are you moving the primer lever to the correct engine before doing the 4-5 pumps?
