Has anyone else tried the Westland Scout in FS24? It’s not working for me.

My collective axis mapping is non functional. It works on other FS24 helis but as I move the control the collective in the sim does not move. I can move it with the mouse but I certainly can’t fly it like that.

The cyclic, throttle, pedals axes are all working normally. I’m using the COLLECTIVE AXIS binding with an axis on my VKB STECS.

The default keyboard mapping has F and R to control the collective and that also doesn’t work.

So restarting didn’t fix it but starting the engine did. Now the collective animates as expected and the heli is flying nicely in FS24. Probably too nicely, it’s quite stable, so much so that I can trim it out, let go of everything and write this post!

Needing the engine started for the collective to animate doesn’t make any sense and is some kind of bug. It animates perfectly fine if I grab it with the mouse and engine off, and IRL this is a hand control, you would be able to move it any time.

I was in love with the Westland Scout, felt so good in the air.
For some reason the heli is removed from my aircraft list, cannot use it anymore.

Why is that?

This was how i flew this helicopter,

i still don’t know why this aircraft is gone from my list and not available anymore - has anyone an answer?

You have to make it “active” in the content manager.

i don’t see it there anymore!
in the marketplace → my library → NO find there!

wonder why it’s gone..

Are all of your Aviator Edition aircraft missing? If so then you have to go into the Marketplace and reenable the Aviator aircraft - I think it’s something like “Standard to Aviator upgrade” or something slightly vague like that

That worked, thank you!
It’s just that i don’t understand it, because i bought the Aviators Edition and the stuff was enabled by default and disabled after these updates.
I didn’t know that there are packs with stuff to re-activate it.

:face_with_spiral_eyes:

Why is this plane not active? I see an option to activate it but something tells me that Asobo knows its not ready for prime time. I’m not sure what planes to expect but it shows up under 2020 content or something. These were some of my favorite aircraft and I’m not sure if its worth trying to get them going. I doubt they’d use the new physics either.

Hello.

MSFS 2024, missing texture when zoom out

It goes back to normal when closer

Only happens in 2024
No problem in MSFS 2020

Thanks

There was an update today (26th of July) at least the 2020 version (PC and Xbox) to 1.0.13, don’t know what it fixed though?

Thank you. This surprisingly flies like a dream. For its price, it’s a steal.

It turns out the textures were not fully loaded, a common glitch in MSFS 2024.

How did you fix this? I’ve been suffering this in VR for a couple of months now? Really frustrating as this is pretty much the only aircraft I fly

If it’s in 2024. you could always try to download it from the library

Whenever I fly this the throttle moves about a lot of it’s own accord. It doesn’t do this with any other helicopters. Any ideas what might cause this?
