Just released. Did anyone take the bite? The local legends have a mixed reputation I think, so curious to know if this one is any good.

Thanks,

The magnetic compass is wrong. In the model the numbers advance to the right:
(..30ā¦33ā¦Nā¦3ā¦6..)
Whereas in reality the numbering (and turning direction) would be:
(..6ā¦3ā¦Nā¦33ā¦30..)
Because the compass basically stays aligned to the magnetic north pole and it is the plane that āturns around itā. For further explanation, I already did a dissertation on that some years ago:
Other than that the texture of the registry on the right hand side of the fuselage is mirrored.
Due to the complexity of this aircraft, a manual would be very useful!
I hope so - it might be the push for me to use the sim again. Iāve not been on MSFS2024 for over 2 months.
Jorg talked very briefly about the ATR during the FS Weekend presentation. Itās a native 2024 build
I took the one day rental to see how the overall impression/feeling is, since I do agree that the Local Legends arsenal is a mixed feelings thing. I did a quick pattern around the airport, so far it feels quite ārounded outā to me. It has some character, especially power management is crucial since you quickly move into disc mode (or however Fokker would call it) by accident and that will give you some very steep approach. So she needs some effort to be mastered (what is a good thing in my opinion).
I like turboprops a lot but am not a big fan ot the original aircraft so I guess I wonāt go any further than that rental period.

I bought it and Iām very pleased with it. Very detailed inside and out, all the FS2024 features work including optional GNS430/GTN650 and it has a working autopilot. I havenāt found a manual yet but I expect one to be in the pipeline since this is a local legend release. Looking forward to some more liveries for this one, it was used by just about everyone, everywhere for decades.
Does it matter for which sim I buy it, do I get it on both sims?

Whilst I like the F27, I wont be buying it. Iād prefer that they sort out the existing aircraft in MSFS2024 than release new planes. The Twin Otter and ATR are in desparate need of ārepairā. Mind you, they make more money from these new releases.
Well the ATR is going to get some love when SU5 releases.

Fair point!
Not sure about this one but I think the last few first party releases have been 2024-only, so Iām expecting that moving forward.
disregard and delete
no free trial option?
ATR is getting an update when SU5 launches
I took it for granted that there would be and its such a shame that there isnāt. It does work as a marketing technique - I have bought a few which started out as a free trial.
I wonder if itās a mistake
(Please do not ping Community Managers) do you know or could ask?
Too bad they chose again an already existing (free) mod
