Is the FADEC modeled somewhat realistic? I don’t think so. I noticed that the RPM is at max green until you throttle back until ~30% and only then the RPM drops.
All Diamond Airplanes need a lot of work. The DA-62 is currently the best. That means it is probably beta quality. The DA-40 is early alpha quality and almost not flyable. I hope MSFS 2024 reaches release quality this year.
… using the 2020 model. So it looks old compared to the much-improved visual of the 2024 DA62. But fair enough … it least Tommy’s mod has behaviour that is far better. Want to have real fun, buy the DA42 and DA20 he has co-developed. Shows you how good MSFS can actually be (doesn’t quite compare with the very best on XP, but not that far off it either and a whole lot cheaper).
Is any work being done to the modeling of the DA62? It would be nice if all the doors and “call out” windows opened. The fuel caps and door would be nice if they opened also
Engines now also die with the fuel pumps off, even with the engines running flat out. Makes no sense, as the engine drives the pumps once they are running, the electrical pumps are just for contingency and shouldn’t be essential.
TKS De-Icing is completely nonfunctional as I discovered in Norway. Battery doesn’t get charged during flight, so as soon as the second engine is powered down after a longer flight the aircraft is dark (avionics fan still spins down after the master electricity is switched off). Autopilot jerks the nose down to zero degrees after engaging it on take off and only gradually adjusts it to the intended attitute.
This in addition to at least occasional encounters with all of the above. Not really all that great for a simulator I’m afraid, pretty good advertising for XP through.
