There’s one thing that I appreciate with this Carenado Dakota: The full compatibility of the autopilot with my old VRinsight M-Panel I can set VS mode and Altitude to capture. I’ve been lazy to figure out how altitude could be sync with other AP in MSFS20/24.
I’ve uploaded a second livery for the great Piper Dakota
https://flightsim.to/file/94517/microsoft-piper-pa-28-236-dakota-n29376-dynamic-registration
Because these are contracts we’re talking about. Those are quite specific about what is being made, what’s being paid and how. Those were probably signed before 2024 was even out, believe it or not there’s (something like) a roadmap of what’s coming to MSFS XD
I don’t even remember the sounds, i just remember the teeter totter rocking of the wings when i hit the updraft over the city. Lol.
Carenado, you just nailed it with the Piper PA28 Dakota!
Thank you very much. I want to use this beautiful aircraft 90% in MSFS 2024, but there are few small things, which are holding me back.
-
The Engine Sound in the Cockpit
In the cockpit, the Engine sound is very weak, barely I can’t hear it. Else the engine sound is excellent, just make it louder, so we can hear it. -
No Fuel Pump sound
That’s the biggest “issue” for me, at least. When I start the fuel pump, I want to hear it. There is 0% sound of the Fuel Pump
Those 2 points are the biggest disruptive factors. Please Carenado, don’t let us wait years for a small fix. I contacted you guys for MSFS 2020 for the PA-28 Archer and you never fixed the Fuel Pump sound issue.
Else, there are maybe other bugs, but my report is about the most disruptive factor right now.
All in one > Thank you
- the bug that you need to use mouse for mixture the first time otherwise fuel pressure is 0
- the issue with crash when entering the yellow arc
Also I don’t know if it is normal or not but the landing lights during the night does not light the runway at all but I don’t’ know if this is realistic or not but for me I cannot see anything at night…
Probably I am too used with my Mercedes GLE adaptative headlight
Bug topic here:
when I place on a parking in an airport. impossible to start the engine. To fly it in an airprt, I must place the aircraft at a treshold when the engine is already running. Why is this?
I have no issues with starting the engine. When you start on the apron the fuel selector is switched to off. So make sure to select one of the two tanks and also prime the engine.
And make sure that fuel pressure is on. If not, pump on and use the mouse for turning mixture on.
Is that Nanwalek Alaska?
Looks like it to me.
Did Carenado build this aircraft? Yes
Is this representative of what Carenado can do, same as the C17 is representative of what Miltech can do, or Working Title with the flight planner/avionics? Yes
Most of people saying this aircraft is spot-on don’t know what a spot-on GA aircraft is? Maybe
I think that MSFS2024 is the representation of what the community as a whole is aware of. At least I see that there are some people that know what is OK and what not given the context.
I think some people will not understand what we are talking about so: We are aware this is not an A2A, Just Flight, Black Square,… level aircraft. But despite that, and given the price, the quality feels poor.
By the way, the paulistinha feels better than this. It feels more “Default MSFS aircraft” quality, but this in my opinion doesn’t go that far.
It is. The weather was nice.

You do realise that Carenado have built many of the stock aircraft for 2020 and 2024?
The price is…free.
without ctrl-e, how do you turn on the avionics? can’t see the switch .
thx
Thanks. His report sounds very similar to what happened to me. I was cruising at 120 kts when I started the decent, so it got there quickly. I will just have to keep an eye on it.
If you are not getting fuel pressure when you turn on the fuel pump and raise the mixture, then trying moving the mixture with your mouse only and not any hardware peripheral when starting the aircraft. That is what I have to do.
