Famous Flyer 12: Piper PA-28-236 Dakota

Are you able to bind Fuel Pump switch? and if yes, can i know how to do it on Honeycombo

I don’t have a Honeycomb, but maybe this helps you anyway. I bound it to input event named “FUEL_PUMP”

Interesting, I tried to bind it to that with my Logitech switch panel and it didn’t work. I’ll give it another shot soon.

Nice aircraft. May be the sounds need to be reviewed / enhanced. But I would like it modable to integrate a more recent unit like gtn750 from Psm or tds. The default one is too old, not integrated with simbrieg and navigraph
 please

Someone posted a screenshot in the Working Title Discord of them using the TDS GTN 750Xi and 650Xi. I’m assuming they did it and kept it private because I can’t find it anywhere.

I experienced an absolute first for me today: on descent with the air speed at around 150kts IAS in gorgeous still air, the sim said I had crashed! Even though this is barely in the caution range and miles from VNE, which is stated in the POH and indicated on the airspeed indicator as 173kts, this happened to me twice. I did a quick test and for me this is repeatable. This is doubly troubling as the aircraft is far too slippery so it accelerates rapidly on the descent unless you are very careful. And just to add that, in my first post on this aircraft I mentioned its “slipperyness” and inclination to float. On this longer flight where I cruised at 5,000ft, I found it quite challenging to descend into the circuit and slow down to flap speed.

So my question to those that have flown the aircraft: have you experienced anything similar?

EDIT: Just to add: in spite of this, I still enjoyed an almost hour long flight. AP works well and no major new foibles in flight

Hmm

I needed to end a flight prematurely and dive bombed KSMX from 3500’ to land.

I neither struggled to slow down for the approach, nor experienced the sub-VNE “crash”.

No, I turn off crash detection because it does that all the time. I can decide for myself if I crashed

Using my Bravo Quadrant with the same mixture settings as any complex single in 2020 or 2024, the mixture lever works fine, even cold and dark

I had also a crash on descent. Not sure that I have overstressed the aircraft but it was not during maneuvers. I cannot confirm that I have it over speed or not, I was looking at something else. Nethertheless, nothing in cabin looks like I am overspending it (like I could see in the Comanche when you start to hear strange sounds and have some wakes)

I whole heartedly agree with the above. Whilst it’s beautifully modelled and it’s hard to argue with ‘free’, I’d very much prefer to be having a bug free experience in the Saab or the C90 or any of those other Friendly Flyer or Local Legend aircraft that have been transferred over to 2024 with non functioning avionics, lighting systems and other minor but easily fixable bugs.

So here’s my test flight

and whilst I appreciate the gesture, this will probably be my only flight

Yes i could replicate this too. The aircraft crashes due to overstress at about 150 knots, way below Vne. This needs to be fixed. Otherwise a nice basic aircraft.

Also had an overstress crash on approach - nothing like too fast

Just flew the 236 Dakota from Stinson Municipal, TX to College Station, TX. It was fine and handled decently, I didn’t crash on landing . Just some minor avionics glitches where the HDG and ALT HOLD does not work after one time on the Bendix/King AP control, at least on SU3 Beta, don’t know if it works in retail version.

Other than that it seems good. The cockpit is beautiful on Xbox Series X. I really enjoy classic planes like this with analog gauges and minimal screens. I honestly don’t understand the hate it has.

Took it for a quick flight past downtown Manhattan, seemed fine to me for a free plane. If you’re into GA it could be a good XC plane, decently fast.

Especially like the flight dynamics and handling. Pitch stability feels right on the Dakota. Many other FS24 aircraft are too sensitive in the pitch axis. Thanks!

Turning one of the free “Make Good” airplanes into fixes for one free and two PAID planes would miss the entire point of the gesture.

Not to mention that you can’t just divert “the money and resources” from one maker’s plane to another’s. It doesn’t work like that.

Perhaps it’s a pointless gesture anyway? We now have more slightly bugged planes
but for free.
I don’t understand why Microsoft can’t divert their resources to anything they like? Why shouldn’t Microsoft fix the Saab? It was made for them
by Carenado.

Maybe you are right.

In any case, it feels strange to add more stuff to a hangar which is already crowded with grounded planes. There are already more planes than Msobo can maintain, and they just keep adding to it.

A nice gesture would be to make sure the thing finally works and all already existing planes receiving some TLC.

I’ve tested it once, cockpit looks nice but compared to the PA-28 from JustFlight it feels toyish, always on rails, glides like a glider, lacks realism. The JF PA-28 is much harder to land, this one lands by itself, not my plane.
