Hi.
I’m using a rather new Asus Rog laptop with the RTX 2070 super, latest video-drivers as of 29 January 2021.
I’ve bought both the newly available fighter jets, the dc F-15 and the Eurofighter, available in the in-app marketplace.
Unfortunately, I’ve so far not been able to enjoy flying neither of these two aircraft, as they crash as soon as I try to take off. It happens both in standard desktop mode and in vr-mode (Valve index).
As soon as these aircraft reach around 40 knots, they start shaking intensely and jump around pretty strange (aerodynamically speaking) before the flip over and crash. Also, if I start mid-air, say in a 200-250 knot cruise at 20.000 feet, they immediately start losing control and does not respond normally to control inputs (trying both the joystick and with keyboard). They simply aren’t controllable.
This does not happen when flying any other aircraft in the MSFS deluxe premium lineup. The other relatively new MSFS jet addon, the Aermacchi 339, functions completely perfect.
I’ve not been ably to solve this issue by e.g. change sensitivity settings or other settings so far. Furthermore, changing weight and balance (centre of gravity always set to normal, increasing and decreasing weight/fuel) does not help.
I’m more or less sure there must be a small setting or config issue that’s required to fix this, as I can’t see any other desktop pilot having these issues.
I’d love to finally try flying these planes. Grateful and thankful for any help.

It’s difficult to determine from your post what settings you have changed.
These are some settings that will affect this issue.
- Under “General”
Set “Flight Model” to “Modern”, not “Legacy”.
- Under “Assists”
Set all “Piloting” assists to “Off”
- When you are in the sim, from the “winged” sim icon, Open AI Control (icon to the right of the yoke icon), and ensure that “Control Aircraft” is “Off” (button placed to the left).
- Next, and quite important, is to add deadzones to each axis for all your controllers. Approximately 5% should be enough, but there have been instances where significantly more was needed.
Do not assume, even if you know how you had these already set, ensure these are this way now.
The last few updates did change some user settings.
I hope this is some help!

Check to see if your in Modern aircraft or Legacy in the settings. Mine was in legacy, and had issues with grumman goose flipping over, and my other planes flew terrible too. The citations fly a lot better along with others I have tried now
The king air was almost impossible to fly, and now I think its one of my favorites, now that I switched that.
I don’t know how it got into that setting in the first place, but glad I tried the Grumman goose and crashed on takeoff, to fin that switch!!!

Hi there and thanks to you both, TheSevenflyer and Vonzeigler. I don’t know when or how my settings there had changed. Changing from Legacy to Modern solved the issue. Thanks a lot to you both.

The “Legacy” model is for imported flight model aircraft from older sims.
Planes that were built to be fully compatible with current MSFS code require “Modern”,
and as such, they generally don’t function well in “Legacy”
