Just thought I’d let people know that I finally managed to utilize free fly this morning (from within the UK). So it seems like the server issue are slowly getting resolved.
Me too. And this man looks happy too!
Anyone else seeing him?
Edit: Looks like this is related to a screwed up ‘Customise Identity’ which I can at least access now but CTD if I dare to change anything in that menu.
@Tenawa,
Welcome to the skies of 2024!
In the spirit of the first post … I also managed to launch the game twice today and enter free flight.
So from here (EU servers) things do seem to have “cooled down” … and flights become possible.
However, I had to kill the FS2024.exe which first got stuck in the “Customize Identity” screen, because it was not able to make substantial progress within roughly 10 hours.
When I tried to “Quit to desktop” after my first successful launch the sim got stuck in shutdown … and I had to kill the exe again.
And the server are visibly still under heavy stress, as loading ground textures etc. is still extremely slow.
UK here to, and likewise …first flight this morning …and no issues!
It was just a quick 10 minutes in the C172 and spent most of the trip getting my controls set up which again seemed pretty easy!
…Hopefully this is a sign of things to come!
At 01:30 this morning the access to MSF@ 2024 was fast and I got a view of London using the discovery flight. Later at 08:00 I managed a free flight, but the scenery dropped out, flying London City to Heathrow. A mile or so from Heathrow - full scenery and photogrammetry kicked in and was very impressive. No more generic houses, something which looked liked English architecture. A second flight northwards lost detailed scenery, as presumably more users were waking up to try again.
There has and will be server improvements, I just cant wait.
As of 09:57 I’m at that infamous 97% at loading again. … Oh well!
