After rebooting, the splash screen appeared the first several times I loaded the sim. However, today, I loaded the sim twice, and the splash screen did not appear.
I’m not using fastlaunch, and am using the Windows Store version.
I click on flight sim and get the splash screen saying the game is loading. It then goes to a black screen and then crashes to desktop all the time. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and it does the same thing. I can’t get past it without it crashing. My computer is strong enough. I have updated windows also. The only files and folders I have are from the initial download from downloading MSFS from the Microsoft store. There is nothing in these folders at the moment as I believe all content will be downloaded into them when I reinstall by getting into the game . I have updated my Nvidia drivers too. I can’t think of anything else. It’s extremely frustrating. I play my sim on a Samsung tv. HD. I have tried changing screen resolution also but nothing.
I get the splash screen however not able to run as admin anymore. anyone else facing this issue?until last night i was able to run as admin, however since this morning where i see the splash screen if i run without elevated access it opens but if i run it with elevated access then it doesnt seem to be i get the error saying i dont have permission to the specified path
Except that there is NOTHING to indicate the program is starting up for the first 20 secs. If the progress bar popped up as soon as I clicked the link, I would agree with you. This is not a “does nothing” option it is merely a way to let the user know that the program is successfully starting. An acknowledgement of command.
There have been a couple different solutions so far that have worked for some.
Do not run in ADMINISTRATOR mode.
Remove or disable background Seagate ToolKit (if running)
I suggest disabling ALL background tasks and unplugging peripherals from USB for initial startup after install. This would include any A/V software. Once up and running re-enable the A/V but be sure to give MSFS permission/exemption in the A/V scan setup.
Know what your implying, but I don’t know - 3 or 4 coincidences? Seemed to be working fine for me too, until the past 2-3 days.
Downloaded an update to Windows Gaming Services as well as an nVidia driver update a few minutes ago.
I’ll keep plugging along and see if it repeats in the future…
UPDATE:
Started up MSFS a couple of times with -fastlaunch and without. Everything went as it should, except as noted in following post- the nice opening splash screen has disappeared without a trace.
I hope they didn’t cave in to the few who complained about it…
