I think OP @usamor needs to change the title of this bug report. As I mentioned in my analysis video in this thread above, (https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/live-weather-clouds-density-opacity-always-zero/544158/81?u=comfyclover4141) we dont necessarily have an issue with density being “Zero”. It is just that the density that you can set is severely limited by artifacting at high density levels, METAR interpretation, and a legit bug in the sim that causes each cloud layer density to never be able to be separately defined.
I have created a new bug report related to this that might zero in on one potential cause of this bug.
Please check out this report and vote it up as well! Let’s make sure that the devs hear us before they release Sim Update 13.

I wish there was a value in a .CFG to change to increase cloud thickness in Live Weather: as it is now it’s very bad.
Have the devs actually acknowledged this glaring issue ? Or is this another ‘feature’ of this new garbage weather system ?
Please for the love of god, give us pre su7 weather and clouds. I did not sign up for this.
Sometimes i think they did what they did to sell us mfs 2024…i can’t find any other explanation for this 2 years old silence since su 7, and all the westher bugs logged and never fixed to this days…
The pessimist in me definitely finds the lack of convo from Asobo on the cloud and atmospheric rendering system disappointing and sus.
At this point it is what it is. IMO it’s unlikely at this point to improve, vast majority of their efforts are now onto FS2024.
If anything they won’t want to “break” FS2020 with a big SU as it’s run it’s course and stable.
most likely thats what they did, or they messed it up so bad they couldnt fix it, and just said “we wont restart, we’ll just build a new sim!” and when 2024 releases, and downline when the next simulator comes out 2028 or whatever, theyll probably end up doing the same thing, messing up live weather where its a very immersion breaking update, and expect us to purchase into the next sim with the hope that the weather system will be better
I agree. Still, No improvements with sim update 13 beta 1
Rex is coming out with a new msfs product, hopefully they are bringing these effects to the sim
Any chance of a link? Can’t find any info about this.
they announced this on their discord server. you would have to join it to see the anncouncement.
They didnt give any details about the product, only that a new product will be showcased on Aug 29.
Would be nice if they can get rid of the multiple shadows/silhouettes around a plane when flying at sea level over the ocean or panning around in the skys. It’s kind of like the bike and rider shadow or ghosting that you see during replays in Ride 4.
Was FS made using unreal 4 engine?
Ah ok, thanks, I’m not on discord so I’ll wait until 29th!
Cool. I hope they can figure it out
i hope so to, but just to clarify, i am only speculating that maybe the new product might bring this effect because they did not announce any details about their new product. However i dont see what else they would be doing other than cloud effects / sky art because they already have products that do everything else weather wise
We don’t even know if it’s a weather system related addon or something else. I’ll be tuning in though.
Second that
This video would show how exactly the plane should interact with clouds, and this is not even a thunderstorm. About the video, I shot it with my mobile so nothing too fancy as far as video quality and stability is concerned.
Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
Yes
Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
no real depth to the clouds like we used to have
If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:
It is cool how the plan shakes when it enters a cloud.
