run comand prompt as admin type in sfc /scannow it will search for files that is corrupted and repair them automatically for you then your sim should run after you’ve rebooted. I had this issue when i installed the latest windows updates and now it’s fixed and my sim is now running.

I believe the command is sfc /scannow
