Pls read : 1 - Launch Microsoft Flight Simulator…
Most likely. If not that wouldn’t be fair indeed. However in such a mess we need a bit of humour…
how does that help anything ?
I absolutly don’t know. I had to send it to Zendesk further to my ticket and their request. Did it on friday evening so expecting something from them within the next working days. If any will share of course. Stay tuned.
should i also open a ticket ?
i guess i will, if we can give more visibility to this issue
Why not. the more we are the better I would say. I think that they are on the case already but it won’t make any arm if they are receiving more demands about it.
For info I just tried to launch the sim without excluding any file from my One Store just to check if the message of missing essential files would still appear. To my surprise since I was convinced that Ithe update was loaded already, the message of missing file did not appear this time but the usual demand to update the sim with the 3 formulas i.e :
1 - Standart content (WITH MENTION MANDATORY UPGRADE) for 106.71 GiB
2 - Upgrade Deluxe (WITH MENTION BOUGHT) for 2.17 GiB
3 - Upgrade Deluxe Premium (WITH MENTION BOUGHT) for 2.47 GiB
So I just started the download accordingly and it’s under process for a total amount of…122.66 Gib
Loading at abt 90 Mbits/S so should be completed in abt 3 h and a half from now. Let’s see where it leads…
for me with premium deluxe, my total number of packages is 127 (and it’s not working). how much for you
Number of files to be downloaded 288 representing 122.66 Gib. I think that number of files could be different than number of packages. I don’t know.
Did it, might as well send in my collection.
Unfortunately it’s over my head as well, can not do anything with the info.
But it didn’t change a thing for me, I still get the missing packages message if I don’t delete a folder.
AS far as I can see this mountpoints shows all what’s in your One Store. Does not mean much for us nut I just hope that it will help them to find out which pacakges are missing. They should be able to do it I think since they must have to details about all the packages included in the sim. Pure expectation I agree but …let’s hope
Yes, it lists everything from the OneStore folder but we already gave it to them with the requested screenshots.
Now it also lists some basic folders from the installation path (from the 1st 1GB download). But I already found that folder some time ago (and FWIW I found my missing folders like e.g. “fs-base-propdefs”, which, for me is installed into C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_1.18.15.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\Packages (yes, I complety wiped MSFS after the 1.18.15 update and did a fresh installation … which only takes around 30 hours for me).
Already tried to copy all of the folders into the OneStore folder but that doesn’t help.
I’m not sure but I think that if we try to copy whatever we want into their files it does not work. Beleive they have kind of security codes or something like this.
Now it seems that my sim is currently on the way to be upgraded 1.18.15.0 actually. So I’m waiting for the download to be completed and will see what happens. Will keep you posted tomorrow.
Have a nice evening.
Just reinstalled Microsoft Flight Simulator for 11 whole hours and the missing package popup is still showing, so reinstalling doesn’t work, DO NOT waste your time on trying to reinstall the game.
I tried the ‘delete a small file at official folder’ trick and I made it to the main menu, but when it comes to the freeflight mode, the FLY button doesnt work (its not grayed out, its on the clickable color, but its not doing anything.) but the missions work (like what am I gonna do with those missions anyways)
So I sat tonight cleaning things up trying to find an error. Using the content manager I remove all extra liveries for the default aircraft. Freed up almost 30gig of hard drive space by doing this.
Anyways at the very bottom of the install section of the content manager I found this…
Core Content Mandatory Packages, relaunch the game to update. Which simple gives the missing package error unless I delete something packages folder first.
If I click on the more info box, says Core Content is 1.7.8
No idea what any of this means, but might be something for others to check and see if they have the samething
Yeah, same here. Reinstalled 2 or 3 times, it’s only waisted time.
I can also only do bush trips, discovery flights etc. (but only those, which don’t require the C152 or TBM930) No way to start a manual flight from the world menu, not even if I take the same plane and location as from one of the discovery flights.
Relaunch the game to update the core content was there from the beginning, at least for me. And it stayed there even after a restart.
But everything was working.
Enough is enough.
Goodbye Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020
Hello Austin Meyer X-Plane 11
Is it possible that it is due to having a Vive headset? Anyone else using VIVE here? I was braced for this when the update was scheduled for July 2 7.
No Vive here (but a Rift, but I doubt this is the culprit but you never know).
