Is this the same issue?
The sim will jettison objects from memory when you change views, to make room for loading the new objects in the new view. You are seeing the transition. It might help to disable āMotion Blurā in the list of Graphics Settings - at least it mitigates the effect for me.
I never noticed anything I would call flashing when switching views. This seems to be more of a refocus of the images and sometimes a full redraw of the instrumentation. The video uses a Cessna 172, but I tried this with a few other aircraft and multiple airports.
The description in the title isnāt clear, but the video I posted a few posts deeper into the thread seems similar to yours.
Take a look:
Agree, looks like the same issue, introduced in SU4.
Definitely the same one.
Agree 100! It had me puzzled until I looked at the examples provided.
I like @FlipperAlloy30ās terminology, better. It should be more accurately renamed: āRefocus/redrawā effect, I think.
Maybe āre-morphingā or āre-texturingā ? ![]()
I find it curious that I have never seen this issue before this release. I have owned and used both MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024 since day one.
I do appreciate your review and comments.
This annoying problem is still with us in the latest Beta (17). Really makes it not enjoyable to fly in the sim.
Iāve stopped flying and joining betas for over 2 months now. Iāll come back once this is fixed.
Same here - only 2020 for the time being. At least it only has the stutters not both problems at the same time as 2024.
Just tested with the latest Beta version (21). No change ![]()
Have you tried disabling Motion Blur in Settings > Graphics? This mostly gets rid of it for me. YMMV.
Hi, thanks for the tip. I am afraid it does not make a difference if MB is off or on. This video clip is with MB off. Look at the mountains in the distance (at full screen), the parked aircraft and also textures in the cockpit.
Yes, I see it. Iām pretty sure this is caused the new memory management system, which loads / jettisonās objects to/from memory as you change views. Depending on your system, and graphics settings, the effect is a bit different for everyone, but is there to one degree or another for everyone, I think.
For me, if I leave Motion Blur on, itās actually giving me motion sickness, so I turn it off and itās more or less like yours.
I also tried disabling Motion Blur with no improvement. Iām not sure if the result was even worse.
I have completed testing MSFS 2024 on an RTX 4090, which has now been handed over to its happy new owner. During these fairly long and demanding tests, I occasionally encountered this bug. It was mainly noticeable when testing DLSS Quality.
I should add that I had seen this bug before as well, and back then setting an FPS cap to 60 helped. I came across it again because I was testing the GPU with no frame limits at all.
Thatās interesting. I have a Cap of 30 + Frame Gen x2 and the effect is minimal. I think it was the same for TAA vs DLAA / DLSS (antialiasing) but Iād have to revist to be sure.
I also have a cap from the game settings - 40 FPS (1/3 of 120 Hz monitor) under TAA and no FG. Generally I get the bug under any settings combinations including traffic on/off , generic airports and Asobo aircraft etc.
