I’m looking for a simple, printable flight planning form. Have searched but only found complicated ones. Just need the basics.,. Thanks!
You can try Microsoft App PLN Flight Planner
That looks great but how do I convert the generated FlightPlan into a .pln suitable for MS2020? Thanks!
Have you checked out Little Nav Map?
Quite simple to do and save a flight plan : On the right column you enter the departure airport (real one) on the top side and the arrival airport at the bottom. You’ll see a route line connecting the airports. Then starting from departure you choose your first waypoint over the map with the left click of the mouse and name it as you like (numbers or names) press Enter. The waypoint is then entered.Continue like this adding new waypoints. When you are done press Save .PLN file at the bottom of the column. Then a pop-up will appear and then you name the file and save it in a folder of your choice.Done. Afterwords, when you decide to load this flightplan in the sim you go to worldmap and,at its bottom ,you press load/save and search for the .pln file in the folder you saved it. press enter and then you go.
Any problems let me know. Enjoy it .Cheers.
Edit : Please note that if you like to plan a round trip (around an island for instance) you can enter departure and arrival at the same airport.
thanks for the detailed reply. I will give it a try when I get home from work today…
Definitely a very basic no-frills fight planner suitable for VFR only. I created one flight plan using this app. Imported okay to MSFS, but failed when importing to Navigraph and LittleNavMap.
Correct, very basic but the most useful ,IMO,to make VFR bush trips quite impossible to do with others applications. For example, a trip inside the Gran Canyon from K1G4 to KIFP by adding 120 waypoints in the strategic places to allow a flight of a C172 inside the canyon (sometimes just above it to avoid some very sharp bends)…Great challenge to make the flight-plan and to fly there afterword.
