Flight plan ignored

Advice or guidance to a helpful source appreciated. Bonanza, flight plan LGBH to LPSP. IFR departure and approach. Plan successfully loaded in the avionics. Departure worked perfectly. However along the way, aircraft deviated from the flight plan, and then totally ignored it for the arrival and approach. On the return (new flight plan loaded) most of the waypoints were ignored, but the final approach was followed, though I had to manually fly to it. I followed all ATC altitude requests. Thanks for any advice, suggestions, or point me to a resource.

It would help others if you submitted screenshots of your FP in EFB and also your avionics used etc. In cockpit. It’s not clear which is being used.

The avionics were those of the Bonanza…I believe a G1000. I used the built in flight planner. I run the sim on a separate system, so screen shots are a problem. But If I could, it would show the aircraft deviating from the magenta flight plan both in the EFB and cockpit display. I fully admit to being a rookie here, so no advice could be too basic. I think what is most puzzling is how the aircraft follows the flight plan for a while, then deviates. Sometimes I can manually hand fly back to the flight plan, but even then, sometimes it reconnects, sometimes not. Thanks again for the response.

It is very difficult deciding what has gone wrong without any screenshots and pictures of your FP and procedures used. Perhaps I could offer this you tube video, done by a long time simmer on the Garmin 1000nxi. It is a good watch and perhaps you could figure out while watching where you went wrong - or not, in which case to see if there is a a conflict somewhere in your setup.

I have had the same issue, flying the Citation X. I am not subscribed to NAVIGRAPH, so my flight plans and waypoints are over a year old. When I create a flight plan using SIMBRIEF, for example, or FLIGHTPLANNER, it is using a year+ old AIRAC, usually March, 2024. That means my FP is using dated waypoints, etc. I can’t prove this, but if you file that FP and then start flying it, I have wondered if MSFS knows it’s incorrect, and starts you on a different direction? Maybe I’m confused, but that would not surprise me- esp since it entices you to now start paying for a subscription to NAVIGRAPH…

172 Autopilot Nav mode not working
Funny thing it happened to me today with the cessna-172-skyhawk-g1000 . I went away from my pc for about 20 minutes and once back I noticed the autopilot was still on (GPS mode) but the aircraft for some reason stopped following the Magenta line, deviating to the right. I’ll try to replicate.
