Flight Replicas Spitfire Mk.XVI

Flight Replicas have released another Supermarine Spitfire. This time the Mk.XVI, this started out in life as a Spitfire Mk.IX (of which we of course have Flying Irons superb example) with a Packard Merlin. However the rear fuselage was cut down and bubble canopy installed on some variants and that’s depicted here too.

As ever, the modelling and texture work is first class. Inside and out it’s a very detailed model. The sounds are the stock P-51 sounds (which have been used in every variant of the Spitfire Flight Replicas has so far done) the flight model certainly hits the numbers, though it feels a touch fast to get over 300 mph, it does a slight “on rails” feel. It doesn’t have the depth the Flying Iron model has but neither is it that expensive. A number of liveries are depicted but I’ve chosen to highlight TD248 as I personally think it’s the best livery ever applied to a Spitfire.

I wonder how long until this appears on @AlmondBoat85386 ‘s list
