Floating lights

I just checked again to be sure and moved the camera further where I noticed floating lights (a whole bunch) But not in the spot shown by Badboysblues66. :thinking: It’s kind of a weird bug it seems.

Terrain LOD is at 125%.

The problem seems to be with distance rendering, because when you get closer (90%) of the floating lights disappear..

Im on steam and have the same issue. As the builds are the same i really dont think it is different on steam vs MS Store, it would make no sense at all.

They are as bad or worse than ever around my local airport KTVY. I don’t know what has changed, but an entire town just to the south of the field is now full of them, and with the additional floating highway lights it makes the takeoff unrecognizable at night. This has been going on for months and I cannot believe we have to wait for at least two more Sim Updates for any kind of fix.

Yes I notice they disappear, but not all groups disapear. Some groups stay on, you can approach them.

These never go away. Most of them in my experience no longer go away. Sometimes the ones on highways will, but the new ones are in the middle of cities hundreds of feet up and they remain in place. This is visible virtually everywhere I fly now.

Yeah. Fingers crossed, but my hopes aren’t high anything will get done before the broader light overhaul mentioned on the roadmap.

They’re supposed to be street lights, but the poles are missing. I’ve seen this in several other places.

Not unless Street lights in your area have 200m poles!

Didn’t report these aliens at NASA yet.. Eindhoven, The Netherlands, these are solid, don’t change on approach, just spheric lights hanging at about 150Ft above the scenery..

Normal street lights seem to levitate as well..

the second one is normal, they don’t draw the poles, which seems reasonable to me.
the first picture is abnormal, we can see this all over the world and it is terrible.
some area they fix before become bad again after some updates. It seems to be double lights, the one at 150ft above is the replica of one on the ground.
They have to fix this problem.

This is rather annoying indeed, especially since they seem to come back every now and then. Sometimes they even appear in places that weren’t affected before, e.g. one of the recent updates introduced floating lights at LFSB.

Just wanted to add some other instances of this problem for the record.

I run into the same issue on a regular basis in the Salt Lake valley. You can clearly see strings of lights that are hovering in the air, some that go even above the mountain tops in the distance. From where I’m at in the valley, I should see only a few rows of street lights and some neighborhoods in the distant foothills.

Yes, this update did nothing to remedy the problem and honestly I think the night lighting regressed back to pre-SU4 status. There is no longer any variation in the street light brightness or color. We’re back to flying over Tron cities again.
