Does anyone know if its possible to remove the tablet from the cockpit, I would prefer to have a better field of view.
Yes, look for a button on its top right side. You won’t see it easily as it’s on the right edge of the tablet. You’ll know you are over it when the mouse pointer changes shape.
Personally, I would rather it wasn’t there by default.
Thanks, that’s good to know, I will definitely buy it now. What annoys me though is that with every plane in 2024 that has the tablet, even when its removed, you are still left with the ugly holder obscuring the view.
Not with this one. If you close the tablet completely by clicking on the on /off button, the holder goes too.
XBOX X ms2020. No visible (inside and outside) copilot after adding weight and toggling the seat click zone
You have to add weight prior starting the flight in W&B menu. Once “ready to fly” it is too late.
Really enjoy it. After hangaring kitfox due to binary brakes on consoles I’m very satisfied how this plane works. Almost as good as CAS cub.
I know! I bought it straight after my last post and was very pleasantly surprised when the whole thing disappeared. I wish all developers would do this.
One thing I found when trying out some bush strips in PNG, is at full flaps it’s not as STOL as you might think. It seems to endlessly float at very low speeds, like there isn’t enough drag from the flaps, and it gains a lot of speed quickly if you dip the nose even slightly. You can hear the prop speed up very quickly if you do so. Though in truth that’s really only necessary as a lot of strips have very high trees right at the runway threshold. Remove those, and a more realistic approach would then be possible.
Can someone tell where I have to press in order to get the fuel canister to appear. I’ve added more than 31lbs and I have clicked everywhere on that aft cargo door behing the right door. Nothing. Can someone please tell me what I’m doing wrong, thanks.
Has it not appeared on your right wing strut?
Do you have realism enabled in the checklist document?
Might be best to pop onto the discord channel, loads of help there and FlyBoy is quick replying to support requests.
Flying in 2024 - an excellent little bird! Great sounds, flight model, and little things to interact with.
Hi all
I just got this for MSFS2024 however I cant get the G750 to turn on? Also I gant seam to add any information into the AERA. Is there a manual or some information relating to this aircraft some where. Thanks in advance if you can help.
Best wishes.
Bob
Which 750 are you using? I’ve only used the Aera once, but I was able to input a flight plan. I prefer the TDS 750.
Hi Thanks for the reply. Re the 750, I found out it requires the TDS 750 which I don’t have so that’s the reason I could not get it to turn on. However I still cant get to input any info into the Aera. all I rely want is a direct to or a simple from to flight plan. I am sure it will be able to be done and its me being a bit stupid so i will have another try and see how I get on.
Is there any info about on how to use the Aera?
Best wishes.
Bob
I’m just firing up the sim so I will see what needs to be done, and document it here. I’ll be back!
I spawned at EGSC, with no flight plan loaded. Re-configured the plane for the Aera.
Direct To doesn’t seem to work. You can enter the ICAO into the GPS, but it does not actually find it, so doesn’t add it.
Building a flight plan does work, however its pretty bare bones. You can’t invert the flight plan, insert before, load any procedures other than an approach, and that doesn’t seem to work either.
You can use the “Nearest” screen to pick an airport, and that will let you add a direct, but you are then limited to the airports that appear on “Nearest”.
But you can build a very simple flight plan from the Flight Plan screen.
Use this button to bring up this menu.
“Stop Navigation” delete the flight plan.
You can’t use the EFB to push a flight plan into the Aera either.
I also found a way to insert a waypoint before, and again its from the “Nearest” screen.
I’m probably a 1/3rd through my flight with the Aera, but I have to guess as it doesn’t tell me anything like how far I have to go, only the length for each leg.
Honestly, if you can afford it just get the TDS. It’s about as good as it gets as its based on the real unit. Downsides are no MP traffic visible on it, and no NEXRAD weather. I’m honestly surprised they don’t seem to support the PMS50 750 as there is a free version of that. It’s usually the TDS that is not supported.
I’m pretty sure the direct to not working is a bug in general and not related to the Rans, I was having issues with that in other aircraft.
It would be nice if the Aera could get the WT treatment, the real world one has a lot more functionality to it.
The aera is very broken in 2020 for me and has been for as long as i can remember. Pms50 or sky4sim tablet would be good for the rans just like the Wilga implementation.
Apparently the weight needs to be added in the Fuel and Payload menu (“Manage mass in EFB”) BEFORE your start a flight (like with the co-pilot as mentioned by Leigh Zorn above).
Once you do so it works. Click on the cargo compartment and the canister appears.
Click on the filler cap on the wing and the canister moves up to the wing.
Then click on the handle of the canister to add the funnel and pour the gas.
Reverse the steps to finish up.
