New question. What controls the panel back lights on the glareshield controls (autopilot etc). One time there were no back lights another time there was. Tried all the dimmers I can find and not one of them seems to change the state it started in.
It might be the knobs that are on the underside of the glare shield / panel. They’re easy to miss. There are several of them – Three?
Thx I’ll look for them next session.
I’m all about self help first so I should of gone there first. I dropped the ball this time, I’ll try not to make a habit of it . Thx again.
Is that going to be 90 minutes at each end of flight, complete with GSX seated passengers of course. I am already finding I am waiting for passengers to board with time on my hands as is. Maybe we’d also need an enhanced FlyPad with some streaming app or music player or games (a flight sim?) or something?
Thank you. I realise they partly share the same code base, but it’s still weirding me out that I have an A320NX update (where presumably nothing much changes) with every A380X release.
Worth cross posting this info here -
Ah yes, that simbridge memory leak… I didn’t remember that problem an the sim CTD’d again last flight somewhere over the Australian outback. Fortunately no aircraft debris
Now fingers crossed that these crashes are a thing of the past.
Anyone flying VR, please share your experiences.
Mine are positive except that you can’t zoom in (holding down mouse right) which needs to be fixed.
I use it in VR and it seems ok as long as I turn off the cabin via the click spot, pretty smooth although the sim does hang for about 10 seconds once every flight, seemingly when the scenery suddenly changes to something heavy.
The two problems I do have though is I cant figure out how to get the terrain to display on the ND and for some reason it occasionally pitches hard up on manual flight and I cant do anything about it, its like a trim runaway but I haven’t got any failure’s set I don’t think.
for the terrain, you have to start the simbridge module, then click the terr. button on the auto pilot panel.
I was going to ask the same question, but I did exactly this this morning and yet no terrain showed up.
Is there a sequence of starting simbridge first before the flight or even before the sim launch?
I had it started, and it said “running” and the dialog looked fine, but nothing would display on the ND with TERR selected and TAWS just says OFF in the SURV section with no ability to turn it on.
FWIW I noticed my simbridge hadn’t started with my PC but it still loaded terrain after I started the flight. But generally I start simbridge before the sim and FSLTL injector once I’m spawned at the gate.
Somebody that has encountered account problems. I’ve had to log in 3-4 times now, that has not happened with A320.
Other issues I noticed this morning on the latest update -
FLX takeoff detent wasn’t showing up in the PFD on takeoff, TOGA did, but FLX just wouldnt. I’m going to try a throttle recalibration later and see if it makes a difference.
In the FMC/MFD on the fuel and payload page the FOB field on the fully loaded aircraft said ‘0’. I didn’t notice this previously.
I don’t even know what sim bridge is to be honest, why does it work fine on other aircraft without other things running?
Simbridge is a FBW add on to do things they need external connectivity for. Other aircraft don’t necessarily incorporate it and do their own thing instead. Each dev is different.
I start simbridge on automatic. Check that simbridge is not blocked by your firewall, check also your zoom setting
, sometimes you have to alter this setting for a good terrain view…
I’ll try setting simbridge to auto and start it up before the sim. I tried stting the ND range dial to the same setting you were on and I also tried changing the ND display brightness too, but nothing showed. Only thing that it ckuld be is starting simbridge during my flight. Will confirm later. Thanks for the reply.
EDIT: I confirmed that having simbridge started before the sim starts now has the terrain radar working.
