The legendary B-17G is taking shape beautifully, and we’re thrilled with the progress our team has made on the exterior modeling so far. This iconic World War II bomber is coming along very nicely, with incredible attention to detail being paid to every rivet and panel. Over the coming months, we’ll continue providing work-in-progress images and development updates to keep you in the loop. For now, enjoy these stunning renders that showcase the aircraft’s authenticity and give you a glimpse of what’s to come!
When FW-190 was announced a few days ago my first thought was “now we need B-17 in MSFS”. I was hoping for A2A level, but I am sure FlyingIron will deliver as well.
Thank you for the preview! This is my holy grail - I cannot wait! To say this is a day one purchase for me is an understatement. I would pay you now if you’d let me!
Idk, but it’s going to look pretty strange without them. I thought I saw something on their Discord a while back saying they will just remove them. FI doesn’t have much choice obviously, but what a shame.
The only other option is broomsticks, but even that might get rejected. It’s really silly, but it’s out of FI’s control unfortunately. I’m just thankful we on PC can have the accuracy.
There are useful and pretty cool configurations without guns at all but no idea if they are on the table.
B-17s were used for coastal patrol after the war with a droppable conformal rescue boat slung under the hull.
The Fulton Skyhook was developed on a B-17 and used for various missions around the world.
B-17s were used as firefighting water/retardant bombers in some great liveries and as remote control drones for flying into nuclear weapon mushroom clouds.
Especially with forest fires coming to 2024, the B-17 could be an awesome fire fighter.
But if Xboxers want to see guns, there is a way - PC simming.
