The stall & vent heat is not part of the climate controls. It controls electrical heating to the stall vane on the leading edge of the wing, and optionally, to the static ports. This is to prevent ice accumulation during flight.
As for the cabin air system, these should explain everything.
For all you could ever want to know about the C414A and more, here’s the complete Flight Manual/POH.
(Note: The performance data will not be exactly relevant, this manual is for a stock C414A, whereas the FlySimWare model recreates an aircraft with RAM IV performance modifications installed.)
For whatever reason, if you’re MSFS settings are set to Metric, your altimeter on the 414 changes to metric values - so you’re reading 1100m. I really wish they would fix this.
I think the steam guage is correct if you are in meters, and it is the glass cockpit GPS/radio screen (which isn’t an Asobo/microsoft thing it’s either PMS or TDS depending upon which one you use) that is wrong as it’s still showing in feet when you likely have MSFS set to meters overall. Check that in your settings.
The altimeter is labelled in feet x100, so … I would consider it a bug. Somehow…
And that Cessna is so ´murican it never heard the term “meter”
(She only knows a “variometer”.)
That’s the first plane that I see that change the altimer display according to the user MFS settings. On other aircraft I always see feet if the altimeter is labelled in feet.
So I now switched to “Hybrid” which should display ALT in feet. I’ll test
I did another flight in the latest version today … it’s a wonderful aircraft. It looks great inside and out, with a very immersive and detailed cockpit, the sounds are great and it’s a joy to fly, thanks to the organic/fluid flight dynamics. Definitely one of the best GA aircraft you can currently get for MSFS.
Love the new modeling of the tablet with the animated suction cup holder!
I would too - it doesn’t seem unreasonable to say that a feet only instrument should detect the system value and if(metric) then (converttofeet) before feeding that value to the rendering functions.
I watched this review video in little bits and pieces over the last 2 days. It’s over 2 hours long so you have to take your time with it. Anyway, these guys dig into most of the details regarding the plane, take a look if you’re interested. They’re real pilots so I learned a few things.
This might just be me being dumb… But perhaps someone can educate me. The onboard fuel computer, the CFS2000A. I understand basically how it works, but made an error. I chose ‘Fillup’, hit verify, and it now shows 206 usable gallons. But what if I only have 100 gallons on board. There is an ‘Add Gallons’ option, but I don’t see any option to specifically set how much fuel you have or to ‘Remove Gallons’. My fuel computer now thinks I have more fuel than I actually have and I cannot see how to correct this. Even turning the master switch on and off does not seem to help.
OK - to answer my own question the only way to fix this seems to be to exit out to the main menu and restart your flight from the world map…
Does anyone know how it would be done in reality if you hit ‘Fillup’ and you hadn’t actually filled up?
