The on disk folder installation name changed:
- From: flysimware-cessna-414
- To: flysimware-cessna-414aw
And so did the AppData folder that stores Hours and Hobbs data etc.
- From: flysimware_Cessna_414A
- To: flysimware_Cessna_414AW
Just for ref.

True, I’m just noting that it was always marketed as the 414AW, it’s the game files that are now consistent.
I tried the c414 in msfs su10 beta and although I like that airplane, performance was quite poor. I could only get around 25 fps in vr with a 3080ti. That is 15 fps less than a default aircraft. My cpu was much more hammered than with other aircraft. Hope there is plan to improve performance with SU10
Performance on my rig with 3070TI is excellent in VR. No CPU problems. However, I am not running the SU10 beta, which apparently has a lot of FPS issues on all kind of planes.
I also have a 3080ti and have been flying the 414 almost exclusively (always in VR on Index) on the SU10 Beta (D11, TAA) and have been having amazing stutter free 40 locked FPS. Really good performance. Seems to have taken a tiny hit after the SU10 beta update, but still much better then SU9 for my system and configuration at least.

I am using a varjo aero and an i9-9900k/3080ti. I noticed that I was very cpu bound with the c414 while it is not the case with other aircraft
I have to add that I use the GNS530 mod and disable the TDS GTN750Xi. The TDS GTN750 Xi lowers my FPS even when it is not active.
I believe the weather radar on the TDS is simulated (meaning fake or just for show). I see the same weather pattern on every flight no matter the location or conditions.
Yes. This is why I don’t use the TDS. It lowers my fps in VR by about 20%. I can’t afford that.
I do not use it for that reason either. Fluid motion is too important and the TDS impact really is noticeable. And I did make an exception for it in the virus scan library, as was suggested elsewhere.
How do I turn off the MIN SPEED alarm?
It’s probably in the “sounds.xml” file somewhere. You could comment that sound out.
Is there a way to do it in cockpit?
I flew a short flight from KEWB to KOQU and was a little slow as I was landing, which triggered the alarm. However the alarm continued after touchdown and during taxi. Once parked, I shut everything down and did a startup procedure for a new flight without exiting the sim. When I turned the battery back on, the alarm was still sounding.
I realize that the alarm will shut off if you increase speed after the alarm triggers. However, in the situation I was in, where the alarm went off as my wheels were hitting the runway, I couldn’t increase my speed, so the alarm never shut off.
Yes, advance the power lever to above 15-16" MP, or lower the gear. ![]()
I don’t think there is a button to silence it, like you can do on the Mooney, I think.
That shouldn’t have happened. It’s not speed related but MP related. If you retard the power lever below around 15" MP the alarm goes off. It will also go off if you go to stage 2 flaps, I can’t remember the angle off the top of my head, and you don’t have your gear down.
The only way that could have happened as you came in to land was if you had forgotten to lower your gear, or perhaps had flaps 2 set without gear. Perhaps you left deploying the gear really late, and they were still in transit, and not locked? I’ve never had that happen to me, in any case.
Hmm, so if that ever happens to me I should be able to stop it by momentarily opening the throttle up while I’m taxying ?
Is this coming to the marketplace?
Yes, me too. I can’t fly the 414 or the 310 now in SU10Beta as it’s very choppy and distracting in Vr due to cpu loading. SU9 was smooth and GPU bound in Vr. Strangely the Kodiak is fine in SU10Beta and very smooth so it’s only some third party planes that are not working well in SU10Beta.
You don’t arm it, that happens automatically when you select a climb/descend mode such as VS or IAS.
Process is select new altitude, then select transition mode and rate. You will know if the automatic arming has taken place because ALTS will be annunciated in the lower part of the autopilot display.
Hi all,
I’ve put together an integrated checklist for the TDS GTN 750xi version of the 414. This allows you to see every procedure outlined in the POH within the TDS version of the 750. I’ve included all 7 preflight procedures, the normal operating procedures, and the 20-30ish emergency procedures. I combined some of the quality of life checklist items that JayDee included into his checklist PDF on flightsim.to, but I also put back in the checklist items they did not include in their PDF but are listed in the POH. I also had to condense a few emergency procedure names just so the GTN wouldn’t cut off the text. You shouldn’t really even notice.
I found the in-game panel checklist procedures very lacking as of 2.8.1. This should make up for that.
Note that some of the emergency procedures are just for looks and not possible within the sim (yet) due to the 414 lacking a few extensive features. Who knows - that might change down the line. But otherwise, everything is pretty faithful to the POH. Enjoy!
