I wish you a speedy recovery as we miss you on air.
Peeps please tell me what i am doing wrong?
On my last 70 minute flight this happened about 6 times.
I got the altitude set to 4500 ft. I don’t touch anything and the plane just pitches up, starts climbing until it stalls. I disconnect autopilot and push the nose down to recover every time. Then I set VS to go down to 4500 ft again. This is really annoying.
I am running the latest Marketplace version of the 414.
Did you install the Working Title 530 gps? I have heard there are issues with that and the 750.
Yes i have the WT installed.
There shouldn’t be any issues unless you have both the PMS GTN 750 and the WT 530 at the same time. OP has the 750 but not the 530 so they can’t interfere.
I think the author of the 750 would tend to disagree, unless I’m reading this wrong
Collapsing this into thread mode there’s a statement that the new WT is installed… but I really find this forum software hard to follow sometimes.
I was seeing some of this behavior a couple times today, yes. Same as you describe. Just flying for a while on AP and eventually I notice I’m climbing above my set altitude and I don’t know why. I thought it was maybe strong wind or something i had set wrong.
Glad to see I am not going crazy. ![]()
You are one of the very few who thinks this. Might want to give it more of a chance before judging too early.
If it wasn’t for the little climbing bug i am experiencing i thought it was perfect. I got the Kodiak too. Completely different aircraft. The 414 is in my opinion very nice to fly.
How is it “clearly better?” out of curiosity. Especially given that you don’t own it?
Why don’t you like the 414?
Your post isn’t very helpful. The general consensus is that both the 414 AND the Kodiak are awesome aircraft (also my opinion). But just a post saying that the 414 is a “waste of money” doesn’t really have any validity or substance to it.
The 414, is one of the reasons that made it worth investing in the hardware needed, to properly run, MSFS…
You said this twice, but what is your explanation? What specifically is wrong with the Cessna 414 to qualify it as a “massive disappointment”? What does the Kodiak that you do not own that you previously claimed was superior do better? I’m just curious as a fan of both.
The 414AW has the most features of any addon in MSFS that I’ve tested (and I’ve tested most.) Specifically, it has 17 feature points:
- Custom avionics
- Custom soundset
- Integrated failures
- Ground power unit
- Hidable flight controls
- Hidable pilots
- Interactive checklists
- Interchangeable avionics
- Comprehensive user manual
- Opening doors
- Opening windows
- Sound attenuation
- State saving
- Visible static elements
- Tablet
- Visible passengers
- Wear and tear simulation
In terms of the aircraft being modeled and what was integrated into the simulation of it, it’s also the must robust in MSFS with 43 cockpit features as pictured here (note: weather radar might not work on the Xbox, I’m not sure if it’s wasm or just HTML/JS/CSS, so your mileage may vary on that one):
I think what you’re trying to say is that you personally don’t like the Cessna 414AW as an actual aircraft, which is subjective preference. To insinuate that the addon is bad is objectively very confusing to anyone who’s spent more than a few minutes with it, is all.
Objectively, for the price you are getting the most bang for your buck for a GA aircraft in MSFS presently. You made a fantastic post a while back about the drama on the forums and how it needs to stop, so surely you can imagine why your post seems to just be intentionally dramatic when it trashes a great addon with no context.
But all of that said, enjoy the Kodiak! It’s also a great addon.
I just bought the 414A on Xbox. It does not seem to have AP Nav function with GPS on WT G530. Is this a known issue or what’s going on here? Maybe I’m not doing something correctly….
I’ve tested nearly all of my 3rd party aircraft that use the WT G430/530 and most have issues with it.
The reality is, it seems to change core function to the extent that it will require updates on the part of the 3rd party aircraft developers to incorporate the changes brought on by the WT improvements.
In the interim, you can use the default Asobo unit by uninstalling the WT add-on.
Really? They work fine for me. PC-12, Ovation, Seneca all seem to be working as expected. I have had some unusual behavior from the climb/vs autopilot but that is not part of the 530 update as far as I know.
The Carenado aircraft seem to be the exception for me, as well.
Otherwise I’m seeing issues, such as with the C414.
To each their own.
