Flysimware Cessna 414A

i just can’t ask my questions on Flysimware via Discord, the link is not active in the app…

Same issue for me. Downloads the Zip file and then get a 'Zip folder is invalid" message.

Hopefully this gets fixed up ASAP

Retry. I had to download 4 or 5 times before it worked but it eventually went through.

Picked it up, seems quite a nice aircraft but does anyone else find it quite twitchy and light feeling? Maybe I’ve been spoiled by the SU9 beta C172 aerodynamics. Do they recommend a linear controller curve for this plane?

Also the manual is missing a fair bit of important info it seems, I can’t find any checklists and performance tables? there aren’t even any Vspeeds listed. Does anyone have a good reference for how I should be setting power and props etc.

Yes, it is a great airplane. And it looks like Momo is now working with pms50 to get the WTT GPS code implemented, for those with the premium version of the GTN750.

There are still bugs but they are becoming less serious now. Famous last words.

That’s nice. But I (user of pms50 premium) have been unable to get the 605 autopilot to capture LOC or GS. I could capture them half of the time several versions ago, but haven’t been able to do so in weeks. I hope that gets looked at also…

Can you not capture them at all (as in the GS indicator stays on armed) or do you capture it (according to the screen) but the plane doesn’t follow it? The latter is my problem

The former, both LS and GS remained armed, never go active. I can capture VOR and GPS, but my autopilot simply flies through the CDI needle (which display perfectly) when on an ILS approach. I can also handfly the ILS approach, but the autopilot never goes from either LOC or GS armed to active…

Thats so weird, that i have the opposite problem. Havent tried 1.6 yet though

EDIT: Installed 1.6.2, same issue. Has there been any statement from the dev regarding an ILS/Glide Slope fix?

Best freakin GA in the sim, by far. Double GTN750s!!! wooo!!! Beta version is getting very, very good. This is an instant throw money at it. My go-to, and yes, beats my all time fav, the Kodiak. Can’t wait to see where this amazeballs aircraft hits when in final version. Bought day one, and zero regrets. This is the plane you forget its a sim, lets have that glorious sound update

Sure, first result on Google for “c414 poh”:

It’s not an AW variant, but the numbers are pretty close.

the server downloads have been problematic for many, me included, most likely exacerbated by the popularity that they have experienced. Jump on the order page and raise a request, they will send you a link that goes through a different server.
As for the installer, I always keep the ZIP files around particularly when there’s a beta test going on, so even if I uninstalled I would only need to reinstall based on the version I wanted to keep - it also allows me to weed out ones that are quickly replaced with newer versions to address quick but impactful issues (like 1.6.0 and 1.6.1 were replaced, i didn’t bother to keep them around)

there’s a swap-out code change for the 605 inthe discord channel, that might well address what you are hitting. Discord

There’s been lots of statements from them about ILS/GS, yes.
As I just posted, Discord has a 605 fix that may be of use for you, even though momo says VLOC in that post, in this Discord he talks about general instrument approach behaviours it is meant to address.

What I did was, I contacted them directly through my account and within an hour they sent me a direct link for downloading the 1.1 gB.
It took a while, but at least I got a valid zip file and managed to install it.
You may wanna try that if it hasn’t been fixed yet.

I ended up receiving the same response with a direct link within an hour of sending my email. Tried installation this morning with success. Really impressed by the service of FlySimWare with their response time and assistance.

As mentioned above. Previous versions of the aircraft should still be in your “Downloads” section on the PC. I had issues with a previous build and went back through my downloads to install a version that I had no issues with and it worked with no issues. Like old mate said, Always best to keep a working version somewhere.
