I never tried that alternate function. I have both rudder, and elevator trims on my yoke, so would use those, and the standard bindings, and I don’t think I have ever used aileron trim, on any plane.
Maybe I just picked that up wrong. Some of this is in random posts on discord. But the button will allow barrel to change elevator trim (and disconnect AP apparently). I can’t do this with mouse control I don’t think. Seems like this aircraft has so many slightly different ways to trim it or change pitch! and that’s before we talk about the MANUV function/override switch (and mappings).
I had this happen to me once so far. The trim just stopped working during a flight. I had to hand fly and land. Restarted the sim and it worked again. No idea what I did to cause it. I didn’t try the alternate trim switch to see if that would have worked.
I had this happen the other day after setting up the binding for Steering Lock. It seems that the steering lock binding is configured to the G-Limiter switch, after “turning off” the G-limiter I had pitch control back…
For some reason if the G-limiter is engaged you will not have pitch control and the auto-pilot will not engage.
interesting, thanks for the feedback, guys
Is there a binding for a CUTOFF latches?
If you are using external software like SPAD, take a look at this post:
No, unfortunately not. I do not have SPAD and was hoping for a native binding.

Fine, but again I get virus alert on Win10
I didn’t see this issue installing v1.1.7 but others reported this on their discord today already. Previously they removed a weather radar component to stop the false flags from defender. No idea what the source of this new one is. Maybe go and report it too. Not sure why my install doesn’t see this issue. I’ve not had any anti virus flags either.
I’m getting the same on Windows 10 as well.
I tried your settings -am i correct in saying that with these settings the barrel button on the left yoke handle should move when axis x+ or axis x- is moved? Mine doesnt and wondered if i had misunderstood.I tried using TCA throttle slider.
Yeah I noticed that too. there may be a better way, but this way functions even though it doesn’t animate the barrel switch. It was just a suggestion from a user, not an official map function. I would ideally like a fix that animated the barrel switch too. If you find one let me know.
I like that the developer is updating the aircraft regularly. I can’t belive I’m gonna say this but maybe wait a bit longer before you release an update install. Every 2 or 3 days gets annoying. To top it off I get the virus install issue and have to turn off windows security to Install.
That’s part of being an early access supporter. We agreed to buy in early and ride on the emotional rollercoaster of development, frequent patches and hiccups.
On the very same subject an official comment.
If you figure anything out let me know re lack of animation of the barrel switch with bindings. Maybe multi action bindings don’t animate? I really don’t know enough about this stuff.
Ah - so the fix works ie adjusts pitch, but doesnt visibly move the switch.Thats ok as far as im concerned. So this can be used to climb or descend adjusting pitch of aircraft when starting in level flight.
Yes it work to adjust aircraft pitch. The barrel switch adjusts it in increments in one axis only if you need to take temporary manual control over entire AP then MANUV button disengages AP temporarily until you release it again giving you full manual aircraft control (for LNAV & V/S).
The barrel switch on the other hand leaves AP active for LNAV, but disengages any vertical AP mode like V/S so you have to click on V/S again to reactivate it after you change the pitch with the barrel switch. I think MANUV is used low and slow while BARREL is used most of the time but especially handy at speed & altitude so the aircraft pitch can be gently tweaked while AP still follows LNAV.
The barrel also has a center button which will activate elevator trim via the barrel switch when pressed and held. Which is another way for setting trim on this aircraft.
Thanks very much.Im new to this so need to read up a bit
