FlyTampa Las Vegas Scenery causing CTD on Xbox

NOTE: I’m on Series X.

So, last week I bought FlyTampa’s Las Vegas pack that includes the handcrafted Vegas and McCarran Int’l (KLAS).

The Vegas strip and surrounding scenery is fantastic. However, I get CTD everytime I go near KLAS or takeoff from it.

Now, the pack is split into 2 pieces. The City and the Airport.

The only “solution” I’ve seen is to delete the Airport, clear Cache, and reinstall. I’ve done that 3 different times.

I can only use the Airport once, no problem, but outside of that it’s CTD everytime afterwards, sometimes even when I’m flyimg elsewhere.

I’ve seen nothing in regards to fixes or acknowledgement from FlyTampa or any general solution. Even searching threads here, people claim to have no issue.

I’m at a loss, it’s Xbox, so no refunds per Asobo/MS. I’d hate to just leave that sweet Airport rotting in the abyss of Digital Space behind the Delete button.

I was wondering if this package was any good for xbox.
I got the Nellis afb add on and was hoping the 2 would marry up for a better experience

If I understand it right, developers can’t even test ahead of time on Xbox before content is released. Instead, it’s tested in a virtual environment that doesn’t pick up these problems.

It’s clear the content isn’t tested on Xbox before it gets published to the marketplace, either. That explains these reproducible CTDs, aircraft released that didn’t work due to WASM issues, and other add-ons like Simple Traffic being published despite clearly not working.

It’s now OCTOBER and still getting CTD with this Scenery. I give up. I’ll just put FlyTampa on my “No Fly List” with Captain Sim and the rest of them.

I can confirm the the latest update patch from Oct 27/22 does not fix the CTD issues at McCarron airport.
If you delete the airport but keep the Las Vegas city then it will work.

I’m on Xbox Series X - currently in the beta SU11

The sim is on SU14 currently and I recently installed both airport and city on my X Box X.

Long story short – if yours crashes, try uninstalling the Top Gun maverick addon. Mine will CTD with top Gun installed but appears to work without it. i couldn’t run with only the city installed because the airport appears to contain the correct elevation data for the entire package and I had floating and doubled up buildings.

Note: I am flying the C152 Aerobat without live traffic or live weather. (but it CTD under the same conditions with Top Gun installed - no videos and transparent Sphere)

OK, One Day later: today I flew the C172 G1000 from x codr’s 1G4 to KLAS with city by FlyTampa using live weather (CAVOK with light haze). I flew straight at the city and around it and landed at KLAS and, while taxiing, my screens went blank but no CTD.
