Hey buddy;

Are you new to the game? To this game yes, i have played since release but weren’t involved in any test builds prior. I have played previous msfs games but only occasionally.

How long have you played the game? So far 120 hours or so, a good amount of time considering i have a full time job and a young family haha

Are you using this to help learn to fly or for entertainment? Entertainment however i am learning a lot daily about aviation when playing . I enjoy learning new things and boring my colleagues with them.

I made one quite early on, it was to instruct how to allocate vram to avoid crashing.

Do you have a job in the aviation industry?
I don’t, i work in banking.

Thank you for anyone who answers it is greatly appreciated.

Youre welcome

I mean it’s just over a month old… We’re all still pretty new to the game :stuck_out_tongue: If you mean to sims in general: No, I played Flight Simulator X a lot as a teenager. Haven’t touched it in many years though.

I’ve got 35 hours in FS2020. I don’t know exactly what I had in FSX as I played it many years ago before the Steam release… I’d guess 50ish hours.

Both! I got it as just a form of entertainment but then I was inspired to start getting my PPL, as it’s always been a dream of mine. Now I’m using the sim to practice things I learned in flight training.

Zoology clearly if he’s asking us lot!

MSFS since release  Computer flight sims - since late 1980’s

Entertainment. Real world flying days are (sadly) over. Perhaps reminiscence as well.

Don’t know what a Guide Post is.

No - Heavy engineering, not aerospace related.

just studying discourse community freshman english.

its a freshman English course on discourses. I am an aviation flight major this just happened to be the forums I choose.

Ok,well.

Are you new to the game? This game pre bought it before release. Started trying to play on launch day.

How long have you played the game? Around 30 years on and off simming. This game around 60 hours

Are you new to the game? -> Started with FS5 up until FS98, then some break and then got back to Flight Simulator with FlightGear. I completely missed out on X-Plane and Prepar3d.

How long have you played the game? -> 1 month?

Are you using this to help learn to fly or for entertainment? -> Always wanted to fly, started ultralight lessons and just got my license. So now mostly to practice stuff I learned - for example to pre-fly my navigations for my exams. Before that did it because I couldn’t in real life.

Do you have a job in the aviation industry? No.

Hey! Happy to help!

Are you new to the game? I’ve been playing flight sims off and on since 2003. Been playing MSFS2020 since it came out August 18th.

How long have you played the game? I’m up to 73 flight hours.

Are you using this to help learn to fly or for entertainment? Both! Mostly for entertainment though.

Do you have a job in the aviation industry? Yes. I make jet engines.

Hi! So, here’s my answers:

Do you mean to the Flight Simulator series? I would say no, I started with FS 4, then 5, but I mostly played FS2000 → FSX.

If you mean MSFS 2020, since day 1 in August. If you mean the whole FS series… since 1994 more or less!

Just for entertainment, even if my dream to get a pilot licence still lives on!..

There you go… hope that helps!

Yes, first flight sim ever.

I wish there was a way to tell on the MS version, but maybe I don’t want to know. I’m sure I’ve clocked in over 100 hours since launch already!

Maybe a bit of both. I’d love to get a PPL some day, but it seems too expensive.

The compilation I posted in the #guides:new-pilot-help-guides section was meant as an easy way for people to find good companion apps for this game. So the target audience includes both new and veteran simmers.

I don’t work in the aviation industry.

Are you new to the game? Not new to flight sims, played since FS2002 including P3D

How long have you played the game? Since release. Have only 15 hrs clocked. Don’t get to play it much due to RL commitments

Are you using this to help learn to fly or for entertainment? Entertainment

Do you have a job in the aviation industry? Nope.

Been running flights sims from the first days of the personal PC (8088)

FS2020 Well over 100 hours so far

Just to fly around, did a lot of flying in the 60 - 70s with my Dad.

Worked on the F4 in the 70s

Ah yeah, well my estimate was correct then!

Are you new to the game?
Bought it on release - but I’ve been flight simming since FS2002, moved to FSX and then took a long break after my PC died half a decade ago.

How long have you played the game?
Around 100 hours so far, FSX would’ve been thousands.

Are you using this to help learn to fly or for entertainment?

Do you have a job in the aviation industry?
