I have foreflight on my IPad and never had an issue for it to see Flight Events for MS Flight Simulator 2020. The Ipad does not see any devices for Flight Events. The UPD port is open, MS Flight SImulator says its connected but the ipad shows no device anymore. I’m not sure if this started because of 2.2.4 Flight Event update but I did try another app called fs2ff.exe and that to didn’t show up on the ipad. So now I’m thinking its foreflight. Has anyone else seen this issue recently with Fore Flight?
I just tested it and it’s all good here:
- Open Foreflight, Devices tab
- Run MSFS, wait until Main Menu
- Run Flight Events 2.2.4.0
- Settings: Broadcast data to local network; Start Flight Tracking
- Server Connected; SimConnect Connected
- Back in Foreflight, Flight Events instantly shows as connected
Make sure you have Flight Events allowed in Windows Firewall or similar in macOS.
What version of IOS are you using? I recently updated to IOS 14.0.1
The windows firewall is open for the Flight Events.
iOS 12.4.5 I have an iPad Air 1st gen.
Foreflight is amazeballs. I recently had to upgrade my subscription and it stopped working.
In the Foreflight app the under the connected devices step (sorry not in front of the app), the switch got turned off with the upgrade.
Double check that or maybe toggle that back off and on. After I re-enabled it started working perfectly.
Other than, I agree whatever changed recently sounds like the culprit.

All good here. iPad Pro, iOS 14.0.1.
What an amazing way to learn ForeFlight! I have learned SO much more than I did using it in real life.
I have FlightAware too and swear I use it more in the sim than the real aircraft! When you say Flight Events, do you mean traffic? I’m not familiar with that term.
Flight Events is the PC utility that links MSFS to ForeFlight.
Ahhhh gotcha. Thanks!
Figured it out…I’m not sure why it worked before but all I did was turn off Windows Defender for my private network. I still have public network on but private is off for now. Fore Flight can now see Flight Events from my PC.
Hi
I am having connection issues as well. Everything was working a week ago and then today foreflight on the iPad shows no devices to connect to. Nothing changed on pc apart from the latest MSFS update. Tried all the above and made sure that flight connect has access to local network through the firewall (Not that I changed that from last time) but nothing. Can anyone help?
Thanks
Hi
Fixed it since the last Apple update you have to go into settings for foreflight in the iPad app settings and allow network connections.

I’ve been trying to connect my ForeFlight without success. I’ve tried flight events and fs2ff. Do I need to install something in addition to make the connection like Simconnect? If so hw and where does this get installed to?
Thanks.
Working fine here with Flight Events. You shouldn’t need anything else.
Actually got fs2ff working. I had my network setup improperly.
Quick question. I can get ForeFlight on my iPad working with FS on my PC but the ForeFlight position is about 45s behind the sim. Is this normal and if not any ideas how to remedy it? (Connected using FlightEvents)
That’s not happening here. They are pretty much in sync, maybe a second or two behind, but not enough to notice.
OK. I have installed nothing into FS, just FlightEvents running in the background. Is that how you have it running?
It is. I’m guessing it is a network issue causing the delay, but I don’t know how to check that. I do see a Flight Events setting called ‘Slow Mode’. I don’t know what that is, but I have it unchecked.
Yeah, I’ve tried it with it both on and off and no difference. It’s annoying as I can get Navigraph syncing/tracking perfectly but the ForeFlight map is so much prettier and more useful!
