Today I’ve done my first full flight since SU10. Something that I’ve noticed that really bothered me was the GPU usage and the Frame rates.
Since the pre-release of SU10 (near the end of SU9), I have started having high GPU usage, especially after SU10.
I do not have a very good cooling system, as I’m using a laptop, but still, the difference is very noticeable.
I’d be having about 89% usage while cruising in the PMDG 737 using the medium settings. That is very bad as the GPU starts getting really hot, and then gets into thermal cooling, which makes the game unplayable for 10 minutes.

System specifications:
CPU: Intel Core i7 11850H 2.50 GHz
GPU: Nvidia Quadro T1200 with 4 GDDR6 VRAM 128 bit
RAM: 64 GB RAM
1 TB NVMe SSD
(I know that the GPU is not really a gaming one, but I think it should do the job on medium graphics?)
My answer would be a yes and a no at the same time. For the GPU usage question, the answer helped quite a lot. But then after the SU10, with the same settings, the problem occurred again.
And for your hint, yes, the GPU might not be able to handle the stress, which is why I’m using it for 1080p medium graphics on locked 30 FPS to remove the stress.
well,.. the developers work for a better utilization of the hardware, so that users get better fps. Thats an ongoing process, in special the change to DX12. Only solution I see for your case is still limits fps and find the “effect settings” which stress your gpu much. But as already mentioned, I fear your gpu will allways be very stressed with MSFS, and that it sit in a small laptop-home makes the things not better.

Find the path to install the game through Steam
I don’t mean the path of installing the packages, don’t get me wrong
And delete all files except folders… note… only files not folders
and verify the game again through steam and the files will be downloaded automatically and when you run the game the problem of gpu being 100 will be solved and you won’t have frame drops and the temperature will decrease…
With rtx2060 super, I get about 40 to 45 frames with a temperature of 56 to 64 C and the settings are about a little higher on hight.
