Windows page file. I had a look on google. Don’t know if I should play with it or not.
1080p is my default monitor setting
I have done a complete reinstall of the sim, nothing in the Community folder and bare bones .
Runn the sim in both Ultra and Highend and still only 39-40 fps
I now think that I obviously need to be looking at my rig and trying to find issues there.
I think that one is really your call.
I use Windows Recommended Settings for ease of use. Not saying that I am right though or that this is best for all scenarios. It probably isn’t.
My feeling rightly or wrongly is that if you have loads of RAM, say 48 or 64 gb, and only use your PC for FS20 you probably (?) won’t ever need a page file. If you only had 8 gb RAM though I would not disable it and would probably use Windows Recommended Settings plus a bit more maybe depending on your available SSD space.
With SSD prices now being pretty low the SSD space on my PC reserved for the page file is really a non issue and that’s why I just leave it at Win 10 Recommeded settings.
Think I*ll just leave it.
It seems that I have my problem solved. I got on the net last night, my time and researched and after a short time found some items to look at.
The issue was in the Nvidia Control Panel, Progam Setting.
The frame rate was set at 39 fps, when, I don’t know. It is now set at a ridiculous number and I am returning around 50fps in heavy scenery places and around 96fps
over the desert.
I may be able to squeeze a bit more performance from somewhere but, happy with what I have got at the moment.
Thanks to everyone for you time and advice, very muck appreciated.
Happy simming.
Glad you sorted it. Hope you can enjoy the sim now ![]()

All this talk about framerate got me wondering about V-sync. It can be toggled ON or OFF in either the NVIDIA CP or within the simulator graphics options (and maybe even WIN11???….cant remember). Should it be OFF in both? ON in both? OFF in one and ON in the other? Are the settings fighting with each other? I’m confused.
Yes, VRR must also be turned on in Windows for AMD gpu’s but not sure about Nvidia gpu’s ![]()
