Hello all,
When I go to free camera mode I can change the cam view but whenever I try to exit with the “Back to Briefing” button nothing happens. It just stays in free camera mode. The sim is not frozen because I can still change the camera view. My only option is to close the sim with task manager. Is there any key combination to exit the free camera mode? Any suggestions …?

Same here. Can’t get out of free camera.

Yep same. I guess don’t use free cam until this bug is fixed.

Having to go to Task manager and End Task.
Same for me. Cannot get out without ending on task manager, or killing on Steam.
I personally don’t understand the issues the with free cam. I don’t mean I disagree, I mean I can’t see what it is. I’m on xbox, I click Y for Free Cam. Explore how I want. Then I click B to go back to my flight. Simple.

Interesting. Maybe its a bug on PC only, (I dont have an xbox) as its when you escape from the main sim with escape key, select Free cam, (which works fine with the controls on screen) , but you cannot get back to the sim as the “Back To Briefing” option does not respond. Also no other keys on the keyboard work. So you are then stuffed.

Yes, it’s different for PC users without a gamepad.
On a PC, same here. The PC keyboard’s number pad keys work so I can still rotate and zoom the camera, but the other keys do nothing and I can’t get back to “Briefing Mode”.
Just combine ALT+F4 and you will see miracle

I finally figured out why I couldn’t exit free cam…
As most of the people I switched the keyboard bindings to the 2020 setting
After switching to the standard 2024 setting, I was able to exit free cam with the ESC key, the button on the screem doesn’t seems to work
But at least I don’t have to exit msfs anymore through taks manager
Now I hear you thinking, yeah but if I assign exactly the same functions for the ESC key as in 2024 for 2020 it should work. Well unfortunately it isn’t and I don’t understand why …

I’ve just discovered this exact same problem and I’m on Xbox Series X. I’ve never had it happen before. Just ten minutes from the end of a four hour flight in the C172 visiting the MLB and NFL stadiums of New York and made the long trek to Buffalo went into free cam mode over Highbank Stadium and that’s where it’s stuck in that mode. I only had the short trip to Buffalo Niagra Airport and that was this past of the tour done. So frustrating.
I can’t get to the menu system or anything 
I’ve tried my HOTAS, gamepad, keyboard and mouse and nothing works other then the camera controls.
I eventually managed to get out of this using my mouse right button or scroll wheel. Once I tried that it put me into mouse free look and although on Xbox that is hosed so it initially went loopy it did get me back into the flight and I was able to get the plane under control and finish and land at Buffalo Niagra as planned.
