Free view (internal and external)

In 2020, you could set up the free look and hold it with the right mouse button. If you pushed the right mouse button, you could look around with the mouse and if you did’t push it the view was fix so you could use your dials and knobs.
Does anyone found a possibility to set this up in 2024. I can set the pitch and yaw for my mouse, and set toggle freelook with the right mouse, but then with every move of the mouse it stays in freelook mode. You can’t swith it off.
Any ideas or help would appreciated

I’m having a similar problem- not able to move around even though I can look around with the mouse or specific keybindings, I can’t seem to move the camera position like we could in 2020

same here…in cockpit view mouse does nothing…can’t get to any switches

well you can bind the mouse yaw axis and pitch axis.
You can look around, but the problem is the mouse movement is always there.
That is not convenient

I saw somewhere thT you could set your key bindings to 2020. Maybe you can do the same to your mouse. At work so can’t look now but explore the control settings.

I found the mouse a bit wonky by default so I deleted all of its bindings and then set them up exactly like I had it in 2020. After that I could use the mouse for interaction, or hold the right button to look around.

One thing I couldn’t fix is the look around acceleration with the mouse. This is new and simply awful, move the mouse a little too quick and it’s like being on a kids playground roundabout.

there is no “2020” preset for mouse. only KB. freelook works… sometimes but then it just stops totally working either mid-flight or when loading in or during preflight. something is broken. i havent had issues with external just cockpit tough.

I haven’t had chance to try this yet but it may fix the mouse freelook over sensitivity.

Is there still the problem, that when we hold the right mouse button for cockpit free look, that the controls (yoke, joystick, rudder pedals) not work…? That ist still a problem in MSFS 2020 :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

Good idea, but doesn’t work for me. When setting it to 10 no movement at all, setting it to 11 freelook goes like crazy and is not usable. Controller look around works as usual and mouse movement in menus is also ok, but freelook is totally messed up and not usable (at least for me being on Xbox X)

Hi, can you tell me what ettings you use for freelook?

Hi,how can i look at upper panel ,i can find a free look around key or button in the cockpit ? In 2020 ,i can freelook around in the cockpit and operated but no way in 2024 now?

it doesn’t work for me either, but what you can do is bind your mouse to the frelook mouse yaw and pich axis. It is not ideal, but you can look around

@ThijsF70

What about settings-> general-> → flight interface-> cockpit interaction system
Lock or legacy

If that does nothing see if your sim is on
settings-> general-> → camera-> home cockpit mode
