Hello all, I know there are already several tools to do this, but none of them was exactly what I was looking for.
As an enthusiast of both flight sim and IT, I decided to create one by myself, and as I’m using it and it works, I decided to make it accessible to others who might find it interesting too.
This is the WEB: https://flymetotheskies.com
It has an accurate and fully updated list of all MSFS airports, extracted directly from the simulator using the SDK, and will keep it updated.
It’s very simple to use:
- Choose one or more types of airports
- Select a range of distances you want to fly (In KM or NM)
- If you only want ILS airports, click on the ILS checkbox
- Click “Random Fligh”, and it will choose a departure airport, and show you ALL airports within the specificied range of distances in the map, so you can choose any you like.
- Click on the destination airport you want, and it will show you some useful information (distance, estimated duration, and runway information, including ILS frequencies)
- You can also specify a departure airport of your choice by clicking on any airport before you click Random Flight
I’ll be adding some new features soon, and of course, if you want to use it, and you have some suggestions, feel free to contact me.
