Freedom Fox (Trent Palmer's Kitfox) by developer Parallel 42

What is the update in Orbx right now? I don’t see any patch notes.

Edit: Evidently, it didn’t want me to get the update either.

WOW what a beaty, she is just fantastic to fly. Cadeau to P42 great work! In my opinion it is the best MSFS airplane i have tried so far.

Ok in that case I will just keep checking “reverse trim axis” option when flying kitfox and unchecking it when flying any other aircraft.

Hey Severeeno,

Raised a ticket yesterday, feedback and resolved within 90 minutes (problem in chair, not computer!).

Amazing come-back on a service I don’t pay for! By logging problems in one central place, you can pool problems that others may be experiencing and P42 can prioritise the fixes accordingly, by firing through the various social media channels it’s impossible to maintain control.

Have a great day.

Great pair of aircraft.
A couple of clarifications.
I have MSFS on an SSD , ‘P’.
The Orbx D/L pointed to the ‘C’ drive & I let it install there. Just checking whether it should be installed on the ‘P’ drive? (Appears to run ok off the ‘C’ drive)
I dropped the Stage 2 tuned engine in Fox2. What are the indicators that I am in fact flying the stage 2? [I could only hit 123 kia straight & level when, I think, its rated 146 kia max?]
Thanks
TG

I think we were publishing a new version when that happened… try again and let me know!

I launched it again today and it ended up completing the patch without issue.

This aircraft has exceeded my expectations.

Truly fun aircraft to fly and a beauty to look at!

Seems as if the wheels are inches above the ground when landed though.

Is it enough of a difference in fun and beauty from the Savage Carbon or Savage Grravel to warrant $35? That’s my dilemma.

After briefly flying it, it feels fairly similar. It looks really nice though, and the downward visibility through the clear doors is really nice, if that matters. Also, if you want to use it for a long cross country flight, it has an autopilot.

Different horses, for courses. There is more depth to the FF, you’re not flying tandem and the development rate that P42 are undertaking is breath-taking. Will all the additional elements, it’s a steal at $35!

Anyone can tell me or give a link on how Orbx Central works ?
It must be running all the time ? Or we execute it just for downloading the plane, and then you can close it ?

I prefer buying in the marketplace, for having everything unified, but the hype for this could force me to make an exception …

The link for downloading Orbx Central is here.
It works like a charm, it has a very clear UI and you only need to have it on to buy/download/update stuff.
I personally launch it once in a while only to check for updates or to buy something, no need to have it running all the time.

You use it to install/buy/manage your products but it’s not needed to use said products. It’s simply a distribution platform like Marketplace.

Going through there first allows us to release updates faster. Cool features or bug fixes we introduce in the future might take up to multiple months to reach Marketplace whereas it only takes a few minutes for us to send an update via Central.

Will Orbx Central notify us for updates to the FreedomFox itself, or only for updates of the installer?

Orbx will notify you of updates to the installer (that shouldn’t happen often, the upcoming version of the installer will also update itself).

The aircraft itself will display a note when the aircraft has an update.

I would love to buy it but sadly i dont have a credit card, will there be another method of payment soon?

If you use the orbx central program, you can buy it via paypal.

I was very hesitant to buy this addon even though the Kitfox is one of my favourite planes, I initially had the Big tyre version, eventually with the Baglou mod as well…
Well let me just say that all the video reviews etc. do not do this plane any justice. It is well worth the price & is very accurate both visually & most importantly flight characteristics. It just feels right.
I also had the Eurofox & Big tyre on X-plane both of which are nowhere near the feel of Parallel 42’s model.
To anyone else who’s on the fence about this addon, If you love this kind of aircraft & bush flying then it is a must have in your hangar…

Hey Parallel42,

Just noticed something that you might want to take a look at. When using the P42 installer for this aircraft there is an option for “Find More” on the mods screen. When clicked it searches flightsim.to for “FreedomFox” which is neat but I found that that particular search excludes any liveries created for the Fox2 so not all of them are appearing. The search “freedomfox” brings up 2 options while the search “fox2” brings up 8 while still excluding anything made for BT’s poor excuse of a Kitfox. I wouldn’t have thrown the “freedomfox” tag on any of my contributions since I have only worked on the Fox2 and didn’t think about that until I was checking that my stuff appeared using the installer method. Super minor thing but I thought you might want to know about that.

Thanks for my new favorite plane! Hands down best addon that I’ve flown in MSFS and I’ve tried out every single bush plane in MSFS thus far (except the Kodiak).
