I started loving glass when RealityXP came out with their version of a Sandel HSI about 20 years ago. Very cool piece of kit. I wish MSFS would partner with Garmin to bring the G5 and a fully functional G1000 to MSFS.
What’s missing from the G1000 after WT upgraded it?
Version 1.3 is available for download at FlightSim.to https://flightsim.to/file/75081/cessna-t206h
This version mainly fixed the model and materials so livery designers can paint it. It also has the KLN90B GPS and Garmin GFC500 Autopilot. I enhanced the visuals on the G5 PFD and even added a new autopilot status bar. I was held up with inconsistent AP behavior which I think is one or more of the avionics interacting with it. Refreshing the instruments seemed to fix it so I’m going to leave it as it is.
What’s next for the 206? I have some other projects I want to catch up on but then I plan to convert the 206 for MSFS 2024 career mode with the walkaround and maintenance. And if skydiving is not too difficult, that would be fun to add. But I don’t get the SDK until everyone else.
I wish everyone fun flights!
This plane is fantastic! I was finally able to fly it today. I wish all GA planes had a customizable stack. Flies solid and it trims out much better than many payware planes. Thanks Sal!
I agree! This plane is easy to fly in the sim. Trims nice, very stable, can takeoff and land in a reasonable short distance, etc. I use this to haul things in my bush territory where a dedicated bush plane is not required. This is so well put together. It shows the level of passion the creator has for his work.
Hey there Sal! As always, thanks for the airplane (flying it right now), and also as always, hoping you tell me how to bribe you so you add an AP to the 170B.
In the meantime, how could I help on some little details on the 206? I mean some minor details like sound changes when windows are opened, etc.
Of course not a step by step guide, but if you could lead me to some basic sources where to start would be great. It’s probably the bird I fly the most and with the red map light, taking off afternoon and landing at night is a beautiful experience.
Thanks again!
Seb
Edit: had to add this image
Sal, a silly question: is there anything I’m missing in cockpit lighting? There’s a flood light and the map light that I can only enable by using the MS master switch for lights (L key on the keyboard, well, on mine), but rotating the knob on the yoke doesn’t do anything if I don’t have all lights on.
When I tap the L key this is how the cockpit looks:
However if I turn off the lights (by tapping L) and then rotate the knob for the red map light, nothing happens. Most probably I’m missing something, but I can’t find what it is.
Thanks as always!
