Freeze at Quit to Desktop 1.7.21 and 1.7.22

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

Whenever I try to exit MSFS2024 I get stuck at the Quit to Desktop prompt - the prompt window appears and I can click on the Quit option, but nothing happens.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?

This happens on every run, all have to be forced to quit.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Start MSFS2024, get to the main menu

  2. Attempt to Quit to Desktop

  3. Note that flightsimulator2024.exe shows a Not Responding

  4. Kill process in Task Manager

i9-10900K, 64GB DDR4 RAM, m2 SSD, Windows 11

I have cleared my community folder (which only contained the SPAD.NEXT LVAR bridge), still the same.

I have executed a Repair on MSFS2024

I have re-installed MSFS2024 SU5 Beta 1.7.21.0

I have executed a DISM restorehealth and sfc /scannow just in case its a windows issue

Issue occurred on 1.7.21.0, it continues in 1..7.22.0

Same problem and Loading pln files in EFB free flight works badly.

Hi @xPhoenixDecept

Is there a chance of any 3rd party software potentially still running? I remember a while ago that FSUIPC (for example) wouldn’t fully close down when exiting the sim and that caused a consistent hang. Please let me know if you can find anything in Task Manager that could be the culprit!

The only 3rd party thing I run is spad.next and I deliberately didn’t even start that in some of the tests.

I tried ‘Analyse Wait Chain’ in Task Manager, and that did suggest it was waiting for SSDP Discovery (standard windows service which relates to uPnP) a couple of times, but mostly it suggests the sim is deadlocking itself.

Seems to be the same issue than reported in the live version: MSFS 2024 freezes when quitting to desktop. Can you confirm ?
